If Draisaitl won't sign for less than 10 million, and McDavid is getting 13 plus, they will be in cap hell soon. Maybe they can get a few pieces for Draisaitl that are worth more than four first round draft picks they'd get if there is an offer sheet. Would bite to lose Draisaitl though.

Still, it's the Oilers who screwed up the draft rules, so screw 'em!

I thought numbers and term weren`t allowed to be discussed.
Misleading. McKenzie was in a discussion on Twitter on how teams could not talk salary, cap or term, just gage interest and see if parties were in the same ball park. So what he said was, so it's fine for people to say Gagne to Canucks for three years, Del Zotto and Nilsson two, but it's all speculation, maybe driven by agents, but nothing is confirmed, paper can't be drawn up or signed, until July 1st.

Then people starting quoting him like these were done deals, but that's not what he was saying. Of course where there is smoke there is fire but McKenzie was not reporting this as done just citing them as examples, if that makes sense.
Quite right, just twitter. The Gagne rumors have gone ballistic. 12:45 am and nothing is sure except for Rodin
getting a try me contract.
Benning may surprise.
I think he has something up his sleeve. Above and beyond everything else, he knows we have to be harder to play against and my feeling is, that's what he'll address.

Uncle dans leg wrote:Okay, this one is pretty insane but the source is as credible as it gets. According to Brian Lawton, the Oilers would be in process of trading Leon Draisaitl to the Colorado Avalanche in exchange of Matt Duchene. The weird trade would include the Sharks too, but it's still unclear how.

This doesn't make a lot of sense to be honest, but Lawton is not the kind to throw stupid rumors around for the fun of it. The only way to make sense of this rumor would be through the salary cap logic. With McDavid set to explode the bank with his next contract, Draisaitl becomes the good player stuck under the cap.

With his 77 points in 82 games and 16 in 13 playoff games, Leon is just evolving into a pure beast. Losing him to Duchene would be a huge gamble, but maybe some other parts are involved.

Tomorrow is going to be crazy folks
.
From the Edmonton Journal:

Almost at once, TSN’s Darren Dreger got this from Oilers GM Peter Chiarelli: “Chiarelli on offer sheet: ‘we have tons of cap space and will match any offer sheet. I have said that before.’
Chiarelli on all Draisaitl rumours: ‘We are not trading him. I have talked to nobody nor will I.'”

Perfect! One year try out to see if his knee can handle it! :D

Even with his wonky knee, ha had more points than any other Canuck last preseason.
He used to play with Silfverberg and Järnkrok, and he should be roughly as good as they are.

Silfverberg had 49 points last season, Järnkrok 31. I'd say Rödin should be good for 40.

With all these alleged done deals you have to wonder if the NHL will investigate tampering.

If any of these deals are accurate then the pretense of rules being followed has completely gone.

But since i live in rumours i guess i like it.

Is it really any different than it was before the league allowed the grace period pre July 1?

They won't look for tampering for 1 single reason:

330+ million in signings in the first hour last year.
