His $1.33 mil cap hit for 4 years should work out well along with the rumoured $13 mil McJesus will be getting ($108 mil for 8 years on the radio last night).

If JB can sign Hartnell to a cheap 1-yr contract, he might able to rejuvenate the Sedins (an old men line)

Flames acquire Eddie Lack from Canes. Canes avoid the buyout. Searching for details.

This is right up there with wtf.

Details:

The Calgary Flames have acquired goaltender Eddie Lack from the Carolina Hurricanes, along with defenceman Ryan Murphy and a seventh-round pick in 2019, in exchange for defenceman Keegan Kanzig and a sixth-round pick in 2019.

The Hurricanes will retain 50 per cent of Lack’s $2.75 million salary in 2017-18.

Can't blame any player who doesn't want to come into a rebuild - who wants to play in a Canadian city when they know they'll get crapped on all season?

That said, they will sign a couple of guys who should be decent contributors. Not expecting much at all though.

I'd sign both Grigorenko and Yakupov for less than 1 million each on one year deals if I could. See if a Russian connection could flare up. Age wise they fit. Placeholders at worst.
