What part of "armchair pipe dreams" is causing all this confusion?

Nahhhh.... short of acquiring Benn and a 1st for Eriksson, Beagle and Goldy it makes zero sense to me. Even that slug still has six more years on that gross contract. His play has fallen off a cliff. He was never quick to begin with but he moves like a glacier out there now.The Brown Wizard wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2019 2:07 pm What part of "armchair pipe dreams" is causing all this confusion?

Jamie Benn is still an elite scoring wing Blob. Hes only 30. Tons of life left in those legs...more than enough to justify the paycheck for 5 more seasons

Not sure I agree with that, how many 35 year olds making $9.5M earn their pay?The Brown Wizard wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2019 2:42 pm Jamie Benn is still an elite scoring wing Blob. Hes only 30. Tons of life left in those legs...more than enough to justify the paycheck for 5 more seasons

What if adding him at 30 wins you a stanley cup?Reefer2 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2019 4:46 pmNot sure I agree with that, how many 35 year olds making $9.5M earn their pay?The Brown Wizard wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2019 2:42 pm Jamie Benn is still an elite scoring wing Blob. Not to mention him at 35 would be the last year of that contract. Pretty fair value if you get him at 30

It's buying low on Benn, had he scored 80+ points last season he'd cost a fortune.Doyle Hargraves wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2019 1:04 pm

The ideal of this is to utilize this and next season to secure some long trips in the post season while Petey and Hughes are still on their ELC's.
I believe Benn playing beside Petey and Boeser all 3 will thrive and form a dominant line - one for the ages.
And if that's the case - in a few years whose to say we can't trade Benn when he only has 2-3 years left on his contract and scores a billion points with EP/Boeser.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

31 year old Jamie Benn is grossly overpaid $9.5 million until he’s 36. Yikes. That’s Seabrook bad. Worse!!

Trying watching him now, don’t confuse that with 3 seasons ago Benn. It’s not unusual for molasses forwards to drop off the cliff in their 30’s. Dany Heatly did the same thing

I'd take that douchebag Tyler Sayagain before I'd take Benn's contract.
We'd wouldn't stage an intervention if we didn't care, Brown Gizzard.
