Who was it that came up with the conspiracy theory that McPhee was the one who pissed off Bure and drove him away?

Never looked at him the same after reading that...

Thanks for link, I know there was shady practices for Pavel, but that shit cray - poor Bure dicked around by those old school management tactics, George McPhee the snake.
``Somebody from management planted that story,'' said Bure.

``They said I threatened not to play [1994 playoffs] and it really pissed me off.

While Bure would in no way even indicate whom he thought it might be, reason would indicate it was either then-acting assistant GM George McPhee or then-owner Arthur Griffiths. Quinn has indicated to some insiders he was led to believe Bure had threatened to withdraw his services by ``my guy'' but now says privately and publicly it never happened.
After 17 months of negotiation, a five-year, $14.7-million contract (little did he know the canucks made it in pesos, those snakes.)
lol how tf you gonna make it canadian dollars?
But then I finished the season with another 60 goals. And the market was going up.''

``About two months later, when I was starting slowly, they (most likely McPhee) told me, `You were lucky to get 60 goals,' and that I would never do it again. They told me I'd be lucky to get 30 again.
aha sounds like arbitration tactics.
Bure: ``I can tell you honestly I had no problem with Mike Keenan whatsoever and I loved to play for him. He was the coach and general manager at that time and I had 39 goals and a big bonus for 50. He called me in the office and said, `Listen, don't worry about 50 goals. I'll get you 50. I'll help you to do it.' And he was the general manager. I really like Mike.

He claims Keenan's style didn't bother him much and shrugged off the ``you little suck'' name-calling incident the coach engaged in during a game in Ottawa last season.

``That didn't bother me,'' Bure said.

``I played for (Viktor) Tikhonov so that was nothing.''

However Keenan did trade his friend Gino Odjick, which was by this time, the icing on the icing of the cake.
I'd like to hear Tikhonov stories.

After all that, trading his bro Gino was the final straw for the Russian Rocket. lol & :(

Good memory, Skyo. That was the death blow.
His total disdain for Mogilny didn't help either, but that's a long story.

Interesting how people from Arizona have been checking out the rinks is Seattle & Portland.
But are denying it.
But at the same time, it seems, plans to build a rink in Tempe Arizona have gone splat!

Nyquist should get 30 games minimum. History can't matter on this one.
He looked surprised he did it. Doesn't matter.
Reflex? Doesn't matter.

They better get this one right. If they don't?
You may one day soon see another Ted Green/ Wayne Maki.

Habs fire their coach and hire Julien just like that.

Savage and ruthless - salute to ya MB.

That saves Willie for this season now.

New canucks coach for 2017/18 either Dineen or Green.

I would at least interview Gerard Gallant.

Throw Crow in there as well. Julien was never coming here. A glass pipe dream if there ever was one.

I could see everyone but Linden getting gassed. Even though I think Trevor is a chump, the owners seem to like him as a front man. Playoffs LOL. Little early in the week to be ripped on bath salts .

Minnesota Wild announce forwards Jason Pominville and Zach Parise have both been diagnosed with the mumps.

According to the team, "Members of the organization that have symptoms are being tested immediately and placed in isolation for a five-day period. Team doctors recently provided players and staff an MMR vaccination and the organization will continue to work closely with the NHL, NHLPA and the Minnesota Department of Health to help prevent further infection."

Pominville has 10 goals and 28 assists in 59 games this season for the Wild and Parise has 14 goals and 14 assists in 50 games played.

The mumps has recently also decimated the Vancouver Canucks' locker room, with two more players and a trainer experiencing symptoms of the mumps, according to Canucks' head coach Willie Desjardins. The team was missing five players due to the highly contagious virus in their 4-1 home loss to the San Jose Sharks on Saturday night.

Eddie, Eddie, Eddie.

From the National Post:

Carolina Hurricanes coach Bill Peters pulled no punches on Friday when it came to his goaltending situation.

When asked if the remainder of the schedule would be an open competition for time in net between Cam Ward and Eddie Lack, Peters vehemently disagreed and gave a scathing assessment of Lack's play.

"You've gotta push," Peters said, ahead of his team's home-and-home series with the Arizona Coyotes. "The one guy's played 10 games. Eddie's played 10 games and was poor in his last outing, let's not kid ourselves, right?"

Lack last featured in the Hurricanes' 4-3 overtime loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning on Wednesday where he struggled..

"There were 16 shots and four went in," Peters continued. "Not good enough. You look at his numbers in the league and they're not good enough. So I don't think it's much of a competition. I think we've got a guy who's well ahead of the other guy. That's what I see and the numbers back that up."

In nine games this season, the 29-year-old Lack is 2-4-2 with a goals against average of 3.33 and an .873 save percentage.

"When he gets in again, he better play," Peters said. "You better earn some respect from your teammates. Your teammates are out there working their bag off, you better get some saves. And a timely save at the right time wouldn't hurt."

Peters acknowledged that his comments were a "little bit honest," but defensible.

"I just looked it up," Peters said. "You look up any goalie who's played 10 games [this season] in the National Hockey League in the top 60 in save percentage, you know who is 60. There are 30 teams. Not good enough."

The NHL league average save percentage is .913. Among goalies who have played at least nine games this season, Lack is 60th of 60.

The Hurricanes are 25-25-10, last in the Metropolitan Division and second to last in the Eastern Conference. They sit 10 points adrift of the New York Islanders for the final wild-card spot.

^ "Make a fucking save!" - Coach Peters

Why don't the Canes simply trade Lack for a 3rd + 7th.

LMAO the Rubber Pants Brigade was adamant General Benning got thoroughly raped in that trade!
