For me, get a playmaking centre that will pass to more than his brother.

Gotta say, love the Sedins but there deisire to only pass to each other really irritated me this season, might have to do with their low point totals this year

Move one or both of Tanev and Edler, and bring in a top pairing right-handed D

Draft Liljegren and trade Edler and Tanev for good young forwards

I don't think Edler moves because of NTC, but If anyone on D is traded he'd be the guy.
I'd probably keep Tanev over anything that you could realistically get for him. Contract is great and he can play well against top lines.
Shore is a tweener who provides little - Utica or Europe
Molina has potential but should be a depth call up from Utica when injuries pile up like they always seem to do.
As a rule I'd send down anyone that doesn't need to clear waivers to allow more NHL capable bodies to be carried.
Boeser is top nine, but I'd still plan on sending him down and recalling him after the first injury occurs, which likely happens before the regular season even begins. If possible I'd have 13 NHL capable forwards on the roster and a bunch of good rookies as depth in Utica ready to fill in. In a long season depth wins games.

The fans don't want to see our most promising youth in Utica!
If they can cut it in camp. Play them and send the journeymen down.
Like normal........................

Hey, RD; Post season chat, the Twins said they'd be willing and ready to play apart.
Would you try???

Trade Tanev for a young centre like Reinhart. Add in Goldbin or Granlund if you need to . Get rid of Sutter either by expansion draft, trade or waivers. Why sandbag Eriksson by playing him with Sutter again? They looked the shits together and Sutter can't pass the puck.

I do not engage in the "splitting up the Sedins" conversations. It's a stupid conversation for the weekend warrior Canuck fan

I am flabbergasted to hear you say that.

Better to use Miller's money to sign short term forward contracts. Jagr and Iggy are looking for new homes. Offer 4 million to Jagr and 2.5 to Iggy. Better than 6 to Miller. Add a few more bottom six FA and there is a lot more depth when injuries pile up. Let all the young'ns ripen. Trade down the 1st over all for the 5th pick and a first round pick in 2018. Take Liljegren and profit.
Baertschi Horvat Jagr
Sedin Sedin Versteeg
Eriksson Granlund Iginla
Glass Sutter Dorsett
Rodin
Boeser
Dahlen
Molino
Goldobin
Gaunce
Chaput
Megna
Boucher
Gudbranson
Hutton
Stecher
Tryamkin
Tanev
Edler
Markstrom
Cheap Backup or Bachman

Oh well, hey; Gretzky can still skate a bit.
What's Bure doing?
Naslund could be the "youth"

Keep open every avenue available to improve the roster while turning over those ridiculous NMC and no trade contracts stocks piled by the Gillis years.
Restock the decade long drought in the prospect pool.
Get younger and faster, while still trying to provide a sheltered environment of veterans in order to not destroy the confidence and attitudes of those prospects
Why acknowledge reality?
Maybe it would instil some confidence that this management team had a viable plan for the franchise.
We know why he doesn't, because it would acknowledge the "while remaining competitive bit" plan has not worked.
Everyone knows it hasn't worked, but changing the tone to "three years in" makes it sound like this has been the plan all along.
Clearly, it was never the plan to finish as a bottom-feeding team in back-to-back seasons.
Well why can't a plan change like in the real business world? Companies in turmoil always adapt and change direction with the mantra to succeed being the main goal, even if it is a long term plan.
When management was first brought in, it was probably to turn around the team quickly while the Sedins were here. So they did that, but obviously like everyone saw the team was a pushover, had no pushback, lack of talent etc.
So the team decided to slowly rebuild while trying to remain competitive, retool whatever you want to call it, at least their actions are proving that fact.
Letting vets go for young guys/picks - JayG, Kesler, Bieksa, Lack, Hansen, Burrows.
Great drafting ability, which is starting to come to fruition, which is probably the best thing, along with trades for youth, signing some college guys, some from junior, JB looking under every nook and cranny trying to improve the team for the future.
Miller has proven to be a superb signing.
Eriksson I still hold on hope for he can and should rebound with a talented playmaker to play with.
Sutter and Dorsett are overpaid for sure, I don't like those contracts, but on the bright side - Sutter should be able to lead the entire bottom six lines and Dorsett is probably our only scrapper up front along with the heavyweight Horvat:P
But can't deny the young guys and prospects coming along in this rebuild:
Nikita Tryamkin, Stecher, Boeser, Baertschi, Granlund, BO! Goldobin, Dahlin, Huts, Juolevi, Demko, Gaudette. JV thewildcard, still young enough to be a formidable player with the right coaching and environment.
