Yes but if they get our pick, it will be 16th or 20th (can't remember) = it will not be part of the Laffy Lotto.

There is no choice involved...

In light of this from the NHL, I wonder what happens to our pick should we lose to Minnesota and then somehow win the lottery?

League confirmed with the club that if VAN was to lose to the Minnesota Wild in the qualifying round, they *won’t* have made the playoffs and will retain their Phase 2 lottery pick.

A lot of chatter regarding whether the Rangers draft by position or BPA. Unfortunately for them the least position in need is Left wing with Kreider and Panarin and Lafrenierre. The position in need is centre. After Zibanejad it’s a big drop off. No proper 2nd Lind Centre material after Zibanejad. Right wing looks excellent with Kappo and Kravtsov

Do the Rangers consider centres Byfield, Stutzle or Rossi? Would you approach Ottawa and see if they do the 3rd and 5th for Lafrenierre. You grab Stutzle with the 3rd and one of Rossi, Drysdale or Perfetti with the 5th? Tough choice, but you can’t pass up on Lafrenierre imo. Trade Kreider for a centre

You take the BPA in the first round especially at #1. Lafreniere is the clear cut best player in the draft. But yeah the 3rd and 5th picks would make me think if I’m Jeff Gorton. I don’t see any teams dangling future #1 centres for the pick.
