For fuck's sake, can we PLEASE hold on to a lead?
Happy now?
Yep!
We needed this, and it's finally something they can build with Hronek's return around the corner.
I don't know what's up with Hoglander, but he needs to sit for a few and press the reset button.

That was satisfying, washed down like a nice Amarone.
Nice work Donny - good luck on the next one!

Ah....that's not good...lrs won't work there.
Hopefully Demko is challenged by playing straight up versus his American pal.

That was a sound game.
Hughes knew he was in front of Norris and Hart voters, and showed them his case.
Blankinen did his thing, though the team gave Tarana little in the way of quality looks.
Fuck, but I am falling in love of Kief the Chief....

I missed the first. We played better, but the leaves did a fine impersonation of us in Carolina.

A few comments;
Ricky, There It Is. Recall the Bruce story of when he was hired Scooter asked to have top line match ups and play the PK? Scooter had top line match up duty last night and did well, a few gaffs and soft plays, but overall well. Not a lot offensively, a little, but the most engaged I've seen him this season. Can it continue?
Just soak up what we are seeing from Quinn Hughes. It rare to witness, rarer for Vancouver fans to see. Possibly 2010 when Daniel was injured early in the season and Henrik carried the team on his back. The Bure years. As an F1 fan, it is like watching Max at Interlagos in the rain this year go from 17th to 1st.
Miller/CoHog/Garland strong physical N-S.
Impressive PK work plugging the blue line disrupting entries and after being eaten alive last year by the corner cycle of the Oilers, the Vancouver D and forwards were forcing the leaves into the boards for physical battles instead of retreating to the crease and defending the middle.
Is that a set play on the Sherwood goal? Quin switches at the blueline and goes to the low circle, off side wing delays and follows to the deep slot/top of the circle.
Megs? Have Sasson and Sushi played together much in Abby? Guessing they played PP minutes together. Thinking of a line of them with Suter. Their skating could cause havoc for the opposition especially if they get 3rd line/3rd pairing match ups.
Does no one else pour salt on slugs?

Read a decent bit on socialz this morning about EP and his defensive play against top competition during last nights game.
It laid out a series of analytics (taken with a grain of slug salt) commending his "shut down" role.
It also noted some physical play and matching QH as leaders in the category with 5 blocked shots.
It was pleasant to read some positives about the player.
Should have clipped it.
It will be interesting to see how Demko performs Tuesday and moving forward (if he can stay on the ice that is).

Leaves the whole Datsyuk comparable didn't come from yours truly. He was often compared to PD for defensively responsible play like last night.
For me this has been more the norm than the exception up until 11 months ago
