They think they have a window now. It's a sensible thing to do if you believe this.Chef Boi RD wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2024 2:16 pm I just have one minor request for Alvin and Rutherford moving forward - stop trading draft picks please.
Trading draft picks for Hronek is good, draft picks for Lindholm was bad. If they didn’t spend years and years trading picks they may have had a Lindholm type player coming up through the ranks.Ronning's Ghost wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2024 3:00 pmThey think they have a window now. I just want them to recognize that it's not that huge a window, and will be sort-lived, and so be ready to bail on competing and go back to rebuilding before they completely flush the pipeline if it doesn't work after a defined period.
Posters grew tired of my asking how long ownership should let a GM try to manage a re-build before deciding whether or not he was successful enough to deserve more time to realize his plan. The question of how long a GM should try to keep a competitive window open is even more critical.
A healthy Demko and they maybe get in the finals Reef. A shot or two away my friend.2Fingers wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2024 3:05 pmTrading draft picks for Hronek is good, draft picks for Lindholm was bad. Very true but still prefer a little more long term planning. Also the team wasn’t really a contender so moving a 1st is not the best move in my opinion. I expect to see another first get moved before the season starts.Blob Mckenzie wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2024 3:17 pmA healthy Demko and they maybe get in the finals Reef. Canucks now have 14.5 mil in cap space. Targets are Tanev, Zadorov and Guentzel
Would Tanev be willing to sign for 3 mil? "Home town discount"
Zadorov sign for 5 mil?
That would leave 6.5 mil for a winger for Petey. Plus other scraps needed to fill out the roster.
Yeah, it would be tough to land Guentzel if we are signing both of those D. Look's like it will probably be 2 out of 3.

Me bad on the Dermott trade.Blob Mckenzie wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2024 4:47 pm It was a 3rd for Dermott which was a poor trade.
They also got a 4th back for Mikhayev
