He sounds like the Russia Bo Horvat to me.
Mark Messier was a psychopath, please don't compare him to Scott Stevens.Doyle Hargraves wrote: ↑Sun Aug 16, 2020 10:21 am A young Mark Messier was one of the meanest pricks in the league. He was also pretty tough. People feared him on the ice much like Scott Stevens.

Podkolzin isn’t a mean player that is dirty and plays over the line. By all accounts he’s a hard working relentless player who battles hard all over the ice.
The comparison is bizzare to me.
They were alike in that people feared both on the ice and they both got a fuck of a lot of room out there when they played. Messier was mean motherfuckerStrangelove wrote: ↑Sun Aug 16, 2020 1:58 pmMark Messier was a psychopath, please don't compare him to Scott Stevens.Doyle Hargraves wrote: ↑Sun Aug 16, 2020 10:21 am A young Mark Messier was one of the meanest pricks in the league. SS would destroy people with clean (at the time) hits.
MM would spear/elbow someone in the face.
Also, MM was a pig of a man, SS had a little class.
SS would have destroyed MM in a fight
... if MM had ever worked up the courage to go with him.
Maybe Iggy is thinking in terms of skill, 2-way game and grit.“I told him a couple days ago, he reminds me of a young Mark Messier,” said Larionov. “The way he’s physical, he’s mean, and he’s winning all the battles all over the ice.”
Apparently Doyle has scouted him more than Igor Larionov, so it’s best we go by Ole Doylez ReportzTodd Bersnoozi wrote: ↑Mon Aug 17, 2020 10:40 am https://www.vancouverisawesome.com/canu ... er-2028214
Our old buddy Iggy actually made the comparisons.

The iPod will be what we wanted Jake to be. With the iPod coming, MacEwan’s emergence. Potential signing of Toffoli and Lind and Lockwood in the Wings. Right Wing is jammed. I’m happy to trade Virtanen now, just to spare me the frustration of his lameness
Well Corn officially hates him now.....
