Ducks won, now 4pts behind the Canucks.

Canucks could in theory get their 3rd 5th overall pick lol, can't seem to get into the top 4 overall sadly since JB came aboard, team has had the worst draft lotto luck, could have a 3rd overall that one year but dropped back two spots.
Had the 6oa, 23rd, 5th, 5th, 7th overall picks.
Maybe with Linden gone some lotto luck might come around.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

Don’t worry, with the way this team has been built so far we will probably have a few more cracks at the top pick coming up in the next few years too. :D

Alex Turcotte been rising up the charts lately, he's 2nd in PPG in the USDP behind Jack Hughes.

Hughes 1.94 ppg
Turcotte 1.68 ppg

https://www.eliteprospects.com/league/u ... 9?sort=ppg
a 200 foot centre with decent size and elite feet and hands. His wide skating base and strong edging work allows him rapid change in direction. Unfazed by venturing into the dirty battle areas. He can finish and his puck-handling, high hockey instincts, and soft hands rate up near the top of the class. An injury-riddled year has set him back a bit, but I wouldn’t count him out of being taken in the top half of the first round. Has great speed, an extra gear and displays strong edging. Has really good patience in his possessions, and will rile defenses into over commitment, nd then place the biscuit on a teammates stick for a shot.

He will fearlessly take a hit, kills penalties, block shots and more importantly is an improving in the dot. Has built a two-way game. High end skill, balance, explosive feet and terrific touch may be enough to land NHL suitors who think the end product is going to something special. Committed to the University of Wisconsin.

Ideally we'd be where NJ is.

http://www.tankathon.com/nhl/pick_odds

NJ is 5pts back of the Canucks and the Ducks 4pts back.

The more I read about Peyton Krebs the more I like his drive/energy/skillset/leadership.

A good read: https://www.draftgeek.ca/2019/02/28/pey ... verlooked/
Krebs has horrible linemates but is still producing ppg on par with Cozens + Dach who have a way better team.
KREBS coach, James Patrick, figures the star centre of the Western Hockey League’s Kootenay Ice best resembles an 18-year-old Jonathan Toews.

It’s high praise, but Patrick, who had a 21-year playing career in the NHL, is careful to put the comparison in context. To do that, he recalled a conversation he had with Patrick Sharp after the all-star winger was traded in 2015 from the Chicago Blackhawks to Dallas, where Patrick was an assistant coach with the Stars.

“(Toews) isn’t faster, he’s not stronger or have a better shot, but he’s a better player than me because the second he wakes up, if it’s seven in the morning and we’re playing Pittsburgh, all he’s thinking is how can he be better than Sidney Crosby, and he will do anything to make himself better,” Sharp told Patrick.
And he's not some crazy party guy.
“You can tell Peyton is a leader on and off the ice," said Jeff Coolbaugh, Krebs' English Teacher. "His focus, dedication and attitude have all contributed to his outstanding achievement as well as being a positive role model for our school."
Krebs takes creative lines to dangerous areas of the ice.
He’s the type of player that sees plays develop before those around him and uses that to exploit the opposition.
He’s a playmaker who can impact the game on any shift.
He’s also capable of playing all three forward positions but likely ends up on the wing in the NHL.
-Cam Robinson
He played great at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup and played great on Team Cherry at the Top Prospects game.

I bet he'd play awesome with Petey due to his high skill set, leadership and strong two-way game, probably be a Travis Green fave in no time.

The Canucks are poised to close out the season with a solid run of wins. I’m projecting us to be picking between 10th and 15th. What prospects are we liking in that area? Soderstrom?
