Corn, if what Doc and Ratman say actually bears out to be true, then this is why the American political system has failed.

Trump is likely all of those things that people say he is, however, he has shone a massive spotlight on the immaturity and absolute hatred that the two parties have for one another. The Democrats have absolutely no care or interest in what's best for America, they just hate the other side, and Trump became the poster boy for that. I'd say he did it on purpose. He has exposed multiple high ranking politicians as being deplorable individuals who would condone rioting and violence if the ends of which might advance their agenda.

The behaviour and conduct of individuals such as Nancy Pelosi in her responses to the Donald and unmasked contempt for everything that he says and does is juvenile and immature, and frankly it's appalling for someone in her position. This isn't unique to her, nor is it unique to the Democratic party, but it's a pretty good example of why the majority of politics is a disgusting sham where the lion's share of individuals who enter into the arena are only there for personal advancement.

Trump is just brazen. He's in your face about it. He showed everyone what the swamp is really like.

Late votes? Nah. They need to have a post mark showing they were handed in no later than Nov 3rd.

That the USPS has been slow in handing them over is partly because a Trump crony is in charge now and he has made personnel cuts ahead of the elections to slow things down. It's called vote suppression.

There was even a judge that ordered the USPS to work overtime to make sure all postal votes were delivered in time, but the postmaster general refused to obey this ruling. If all things work out the way they should, hopefully he'll end up in the slammer for contempt of court. Oh, de Joy!

Also, the SCOTUS already ruled on this and said as long as they have the correct post mark they can be counted up till three days after the election.

In Georgia, he currently holds an 0.4 lead, and most of the remaining votes are from the Atlanta region, which leans Biden.
I predict a tie and a recount which could go either way.

In Pennsylvania Trump currently has a 2.6% lead with 11% of votes still not accounted for, but what happened there was that the Trump-leaning rural districts were reported early, giving Trump a big lead, and as the urban vote is coming in, the tables are turning.
Most of the remaining votes are from Philly, where Biden holds a 60% lead and 30% of the ballots have not been counted yet.
If Biden gets 65% of the remaining votes (the 60% margin in Philly means he has gotten 80% there so far) he will tie Trump. If he gets 80% of the remaining votes he will win with a 1% margin.
Now, ALL the votes remaining are not in Philly, so it's hard to know for sure what will happen, but it's a toss-up. It could go either way.
EDIT: It's now a 2.1% lead. Biden is closing in!

Arizona and Nevada will go to Biden.

In Arizona Biden has a 2.4 % lead with 14% of the votes remaining to be counted. It's a mix of republican and democrat leaning counties with uncounted votes, and as 14% is still not counted, it may be too early to call it for Biden (some news agencies have), but I seriously doubt Trump can catch up. My guess is the margin will remain roughly the same when all is said and done. A solid Biden win.

In Nevada it looks tighter, Biden only has an 0.6% margin, but most of the votes that remain to be counted are from Clarke county (ie the Las Vegas area) and Biden has a 7.5% lead in that county so far. Thus it is unlikely that there will be a change that favours Trump. It could well end up below the 1% threshold though and go to a recount. But assuming no errors have been made the outcome should remain the same, ie Biden wins.

So, either way, with Arizona and Nevada in the bag for Biden, he has the necessary 270 electors he needs, and Pennsylvania and/or Georgia will just be a bonus!

Sanity will be restored!

I think there's been a ton of manipulation, and the mysterious ballots (over 100K of them in a single state) appearing late with 100% of them being for Biden (I don't think any of us need a lesson in probability on that), and in the key swing states of WI and MI? Or what about the reports that WI now has more votes counted than there are registered voters?

That alone should mean an automatic re-vote in that state, no mail-ins. Do it right. Do it fair. Take the smoke and mirrors out of it, that's all.

You do know that the vote counting is highly monitored and that they keep records of everything, right?

And the reporting is not done vote for vote, but district by district. Thus when a large district that is going overwhelmingly for one candidate is registered, there may be a visible shift in the curve.

I don't get how they could do either of these... Is control so much more lax in the US than in Sweden?

I mean, I've been working as an election officer since 1998, and neither of those would be possible here, imho.

1) The burning ballots. To get to the ballots, and finding out which candidate has been voted for, you must open the envelope. A ballot without an envelope cannot be handed in. Thus you will be destroying votes for all candidates in order to destroy the ones you want to destroy. Well, unless you can somehow get hold of new envelopes, sign them and have witnesses attest that your signature is correct. There shoule be three signatures and a stamp on all absentee ballots. I mean, if you have access to the stamp and you're really good at forging signatures, I guess it could be done, but it's a hell of a lot of work for finding and destroying a few votes. Also, there is usually a tracking chain for mail in ballots, so the chain will be disturbed, and it should be fairly easy to track down who had access to destroying them.... Or, if the ballots were stolen from the voting station... Nah. Not possible. There is a book where you check each voter when they hand in their votes and all mail in ballots are also registered in that same book. When you receive the mail in ballots, the chairman at the voting station signs a receipt that sttates how many votes were received. The number of counted votes must be the exact same amount as the votes received. When the envelopes are opened, all election officials are sitting at the same table, and there are usually representatives from several parties present. There is no way you could add, get rid off or exchange ballots without everyone else noticing, and there is not one party controlling the process. Once the votes are counted, the numbers are phoned in, all ballots are placed in sealed bags, and the tally is signed and cosigned by the chairman plus one more election officer. Then the bags are transported by car to the county administrative board. No one is allowed to be alone with the bags, there must be at least two people present at all times until they've been handed in. Then at the county office they check that the written numbers are the same as the ones phoned in and that the bags contain what they are supposed to. I mean, I don't see how you can do that.

2) The election officer voting several times.... You could not do that here. Each vote added to the ballot box, you tick the voter in the register, check identification, there is one election officer receiving the envelopes, another placing them in the box. If there are more votes than checked boxes in the register, you cannot report the vote. Everything has to be checked manually by the county administrative board before getting entered in the final tally, and there will be a note that there has been irregularities at this office. There is nothing that can pass through just one set of hands. It's not the same person ticking off voters in the register and placing ballots in the box. Several people would have to be in on it, and what if one of the voters they checked in the register as having voted shows up?

Now, I get that there may be countries that have less checks and balances in the system and that there are places that could be more corrupt than Sweden, but, yeah... to me it seems very fishy that someone could get away with something like that.
Then again, the guy referenced in the NYP did get caught, so maybe the checks were less efficient before but work now?

Trump is leading in Georgia by a cunt hair, or 13,000 votes, with 50,000 votes from Atlanta remaining to be counted.
Atlanta is Biden territory. If he gets two thirds of those votes, we’re looking at a tie.
