Who has said that they expect the GM to hit on every 1st round pick and then a bunch of later round picks?

The reading comprehension here is atrocious.

Oh, so because you talked about top 10 picks, everyone has to talk about, and only about, top 10 picks?

Are you drunk?

The subject at hand was James Elmer Benning's drafting ability.

So I countered your "top 10 picks" with top 9 picks.

2 out of 4 and the two successful picks (at 5th and 7th O/A) are superstars.

And that is incredible.

Or why don't we talk about Top 24 picks so we can include Boeser and McCann?

Or why don't we talk about Top 40 picks so we can include Demko and Hoglander?

Rikster came at the Benning Drafting subject from an overall record, showing he beat the odds.

Blob: "Nope! Everyone can only talk about Top 10 picks because it paints Elmer in a bad light. And I said so."

WOW

You also started a new thread that made no sense whatsoever... and with no explanation.

Seriously, what were you drinking/smoking last night Blobert?

lol I didn't start that thread 'Captain You can't Ignore me I'm a Mod' and I know you know that. It was a spam thread of someone sending a pic of some young broad with big tits. And then the attacks about liquor etc. Never change.

I mentioned the top 10 pick record of Elmer and you were angry about it. I never said that a manager had to go 5/5, but 3/5 would be decent and 4/5 would be very good. The Gudbranson 'is still a top 4 D man' is so weird. On what teams is he a top 4 d man? He's gotten top 4 TOI on the teams he played for 5/13 times. Four of those teams were a putrid mess. One time he snagged top 4 TOI on a half decent team. Extrapolating ice time league wide and assigning guys in order from 1 to 128 to determines true top 4 guy is pure lunacy. Spoken like a fella that doesn't get team sports. Intramurals were cool back in the day.

I'd like to ask other posters how they would judge who is or isn't a top 4 d man. But I expect Danny, Topper, Rikster, Hank, rats, and a couple others to all fall inline behind you.

When Guds came in I thought/was told. He was a top 4 dman.

After a short period I concluded he was 4/5 at best no higher than that…certainly not a 3/4 dman
I am he as you are he as you are me
And we are all together….

Guddy should be rounding into form any year now

And your point is?

I asked nicely.

You have a long history of drinking+posting Blob.

You've owned that many times over.

Blob Mckenzie wrote: Mon Sep 16, 2024 4:53 pm you were angry
Are you going for irony here?

Blob Mckenzie wrote: Mon Sep 16, 2024 4:53 pm *talks more about top 10 as Strangelove's post whooshes overhead*
BTW, have you completely written off the Pod? He just turned 23 and it's been said big players take longer to develop.

Not when it's over 13 seasons and 8 teams.

If you're in the top 128 for that long in that scenario you are arguably a top 4, or "on the cusp" as I said.

I said he's a 4/5 guy (like Zads) who can handle the top 4 for extended periods.

Both are "overpaid" for their physical play (more like a nastiness bonus).

Yep, your paranoia and Benning hate levels are legendary, never change...

I'd just like to know who (besides Doc) rates D men by total TOI league wide..... as opposed to TOI on the teams they played for. The dude is a bottom pairing guy. The numbers can be skewed big time over that many teams. The guy is an NHL player but I'd have had a tough time seeing him play ahead of Noah Juulsen if he was still here.

Your Benning asscrack licking is beyond legendary old friend. At least we don't have the puppet shows to accompany it anymore.

Off the top of my head, a few criteria are.
Ice time
+/- compared to his team
points
PP/PK time, and effectiveness
Eye test
Hits
Name/nickname. Is it cool or annoying.

Lol @ the last one. I suppose any player is doomed by that criteria if Bersnoozi comes up with the handle.
