Shit. Those sometimes linger for months. If his game is off in December, this is likely why.

I know, this could ruin his whole season. Let's hope he can fully recover in a few weeks.

I heard it's not a high ankle sprain and may be ready for the start of the season if not a week or so in.

It gives the kids a carrot to bust ass

Ouch 8-10 weeks...

On Monday evening, the Canucks announced that forward Nils Höglander underwent surgery and will miss eight-to-10 weeks as he recovers. The injury is being described as a lower-body injury, but is reportedly an ankle injury, according to The Athletic contributor Rick Dhaliwal. Höglander initially sustained the injury in a preseason game in Abbotsford last week.

No one put on waivers today by the Canucks. I believe someone said players had to be placed on waivers today if they were to be off the roster to meet tomorrow’s roster number. So it looks like Bains, Karlsson, Joseph will be on the roster. It’ll be the non-waiver players being juggled. That seem logical. It’s a long season. Keep the depth.

Sasson has been sent down to Abbotsford today. Also heading Abby are Tolopilo and Aman.

Mancini and Willander sent down. Not surprised with Willy but a bit surprised about Mancini.

Very true, this is all about waivers.

With Woo being injured Abby needs the righties. Maybe it was such a toss up between Junior and Mancini and he just fills a need on Abby more. I dunno. I thought he would make the team. Then again Forbert and that other guy are banged up and both Junior and Firbert can play the right side.

Either way and for whatever reasons I’m ok with the moves. Excited to see if Cootes strikes past 9 games.

I think Cootes has a better chance than most to stay past nine because no one expects him to be a big scorer. He can focus on defence, face offs and skate faster than most. If he plays this season as a slightly more skilled Blueger this season, the Canucks should be overjoyed. He already looks way more aware and responsible defensively than Chytil.

All of a sudden a youth movement out of the blue from a team chastised, both by those around the league as well as their own fan base, for possessing limited assets in the pipeline.

Cootes, Lekk, Willander, DPete, Mancini, Raty all in the lineup by next year with a rising cap in play.

Very positive stuff.
