I heard he hates Swedes, East Vanners and dudes over 6 feet tall equally.

It'll be interesting to see how the Coilers dive and whine for penalties in the face of a very physical forecheck by, of all things, a bunch of gritty Swedes on that Florida team

How will Mëds cope with this as well?

I imagine if the Coil suffer he will not care much regarding the Nationality of their tormentors.

I'd say the one way the Oil compete beyond their two top guys playing otherworldly is if Nurse and Kane can step up and somehow maintain a physical balance with Florida.

Top 6 is a wash with high end talent to the Oil but overall 1 - 6 depth to Florida.

I'll run with Florida in 7 too...I'd say 6 but can't see it happening in Edmonton....just a hunch that says they don't lose it on home ice.

I've told this story before but we used to go down to Sesttle and watch Nedved. I think he averaged 2 points a game and broke 140 that year.

After Nolan he was our guy and we were stoked when we got him, thought he'd be a big piece of our success moving forward.

...which is why I'm in the construction and not the NHL biz apparently.



All in all a dud of a draft that would/could/should have set us up for years to come with 3 of the top 23 picks (not to mention Martin Brodeur and the Tkachuk old man picked consecutively directly after Antoski)....

Interesting little play the Oilers get away with…..

McDavid gets the puck in the O-zone and winds up to do the big circle. He circles wide to his strong side and when he comes around the back of the net Draisaitl (on the RW) drops down to the goal line and sets a little puck that lets McDavid get even more separation. This forces adjustment by the D and Draisaitl slides back up and sets up for the one timer as McDavid circles high again looking for the cross seam pass that is now easier as the defense shifts to cover for the puck play.

Smart play.

Completely illegal.

But smart play.

The Oilers actually get away with a ton of pick plays. It’s almost Sedin-esque.
