The Melnyk is right, stating the obvious. The Leaves are an extremely unbalanced hockey club. Plus we out here in the western conference are familiar with Andersen’s choking.

So Sandin and Lilljegren are busts in your opinion? Because he stated Toronto "Forget" to draft D. Maybe wait to see the final product. They have drafted D each of the 1st 2 rounds, and Sandin's numbers this season speak for themselves.
Rosen, Sandin and Lilljegren. None have played yet.

Liljegren warts (reason why he fell) are showing their true colours, Sandin is years away, but who cares. Dumbass isn’t making the right decisions. The Leaves are not well built for the playoffs, why do you deny this? They are not playing good hockey at a time of year when they shoulda be.

LOL what? Toronto considered bringing him up thsi year he looks so good. He has a great shot at being on Toronto at some point next season. Lilljegren fell in the draft because he had mono and missed games. You are aware Rielly also fell in the draft because of injury, right?

We can’t argue against the Maple leaves’ decision to keep AHL teenage phenom Rasmus Sandin down in the minors this spring, but Babcock’s letting us know that the idea of bringing him up crossed his desk shows how dissatisfied the coach is with his defensive depth.

Babcock spoke with Marlies coach Sheldon Keefe, who’s bullish on Sandin, pumping up the kid’s minutes last weekend with AHL left shots Calle Rosen (foot) and Andreas Borgman (concussion) injured. (Both Rosen and Borgman returned to practice Friday and have been upgraded as day-to-day.)

“He’s been really good. He’s taken on a lot of responsibility here, and you’re pushing him towards 30 minutes for three games in two-and-a-half days,” Keefe said. “It takes a toll on any player, but as a young guy he’s handled it extremely well.

“We haven’t controlled play as much as we’d like to, but we didn’t crack defensively a whole lot in terms of giving up real scoring opportunities, and that’s a credit to our whole defence, but certainly Rasmus is leading the way.”

Sandin put up three assists Sunday in his third game in three days, and is now rolling on an eight-game, 12 -point streak. He speaks positively about working with Keefe.

“He’s pretty easy to talk to. He’ll give me advice during games and after games as well. If I do something wrong, he’ll come and tell me, and he knows I can do better,” Sandin says. “Our relationship is good.”



How is Toronto not built for the playoffs? An expansion team made the finals just last year.

You are aware they lost in the 3rd period of game 7 and did not get swept, right?

And once again, someone on here changes the subject. Melnyk stated Toronto forgot to draft D or add to the D. Rielly, Lilljegren, Sandin, Rosen, Muzzin says that is incorrect.

Compared to their eastern conference peers heading into the playoffs, the leaves D is not good, its their achilles heel, that and Andersen. Who cares what Melnuts says about their drafting. They should have traded 5 goals Willy for a D-man and gone after someone other than Muzzin. Muzzin??? So overrated.

I have about 4 teams ahead of Toronto coming out of the eastern conference. I also have them as potential upsets by a wildcard team. The leaves won’t make it to the semis

Its hard to argue with all the organizational success the laffs have enjoyed. How can we question anything after everything they've accomplished since the moon landing

offensive play matters in the playoffs.


Andersen needs to be better, and anyone chance he won't? I wouldn't bet $ against it. Will Kadri be suspended again? Will Tavares will be a complete bust? Unlikely given his career playoff stats. Will Matthews score 2 points in the entire series again? Unlikely.

Toronto will beat Boston. I guarantee it.

Over the last 9 games the leaves have almost let in on average 4 goals against.

Toronto had virtually everything go right last year and were still out in the 1st. Now they have one injury and team is in shambles.

Kadri got a 3 game suspension, which is very rare in the history of the playoffs.

So not having many injuries means everything went perfect? They were 30th in PP opportunities last season. LOL
And Canucks such whether they are healthy or not.
