Yup our future #1 LW got 5 points, gonna be a big tease all 2018 having Dahlen score a ton in Europe.
2018/19 should be exciting though after our young defense develops another year of grueling NHL experience, and Gaudette + Dahlen join the team, in addition Goldobin+Boeser+Virtanen+Juolevi+Granlund+Baertschi all get better, with our future captain Bo Horvat leading them to the future.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

Sky are you a permantely happy person? Your optimism looks good but if we don't get a top 70+ point getter then I see nothing but mediocrity for the next decade. Not saying we can't but all those prospects are nothing but that, a prospect and there is no gurantee any of them will be good enough to replace the Sedins.

Where is Demko?

And will it be the twitching mustache behind the bench?

I'm happy about the prospects building up, was worried about a #2C down the road but Gaudette could be that guy.

And yeah a solid tank season right now would definitely help the team for the next 10 years.

Still need a solid 'hockey trade' to get a power forward LW.

Yeah I didn't bother to put all the prospects, & yeah Demko is a given to be our future starter in two/three years.
Dudes a beast.

WD is gone right after the season bru, need some new energy behind the bench to lead the future Canucks.

The goal for Dahlen is to get him signed to his entry level contract and come to prospects camp. Then main camp. Then either earn a spot at camp or go to Utica. Hopefully we won't be seeing him scoring a ton in Europe but rather see him develop his overall game while scoring in North America.

The future is bright.

Goldobin either earns a spot at camp or he goes to Utica.

Boeser either earns a spot at camp or goes to Utica.

Dahlen either earns a spot at camp or goes to Utica.

Boucher either earns a spot at camp or gets waived.

Virtanen either earns a spot at camp or goes to Utica.

Benning still eyeing a couple of college FA or to be free Aug 15th potentially, one who is a centre. If he lands that centre, North Shore boy, he either earns a spot or goes to Utica.

Whoever we draft, if high enough potentially earns a spot or goes back to junior or potentially Utica depending upon who we draft.

Grenier is almost done with this organization I think. Same for Subban and possibly Pedan. Or Pedan could be the 7-8 guy we carry next year.

We have Chaput starting to show signs that he may be come an effective 3/4 centre. Labate may get a few games to-show what he can do. Cramarrosa may yet turn out to be an effective 4th liner.

Utica's defence will be stronger next year.

Then then year after we have Gaudette, maybe Lockwood. maybe Juolevi, maybe whoever we draft this year.

If you look through the list you see we have a couple of potential goal scores and point producers just a short time away from being ready. That should come as our D stabilizes.

I feel better already.

Great post HW. The rebuild is on, prospect pool is getting better and more to come. It will take patience from everybody...we have 2 or 3 tough years coming. But there is reason to be optimistic after that.

To your list above, I'd add Tryamkin. What a beast....he could turn out to be a top pairing D. Big tough & skilled...I think the sky is the limit for "Tree".

Ya Z.

I was listing forwards mostly or prospects on the horizon. But on D we are deep.

Trymakin a keeper and improving. Starting to use his weight more and is showing signs that he can produce points. He has had a few great scoring chances where he was robbed. Sooner or later those will pop.

Stetcher has shown he belongs. I know not everyone agrees, and I for one think that although this year has been a valuable year for him he might somehow have been better served if it was with Utica. But I think his D game will develop and although he may always have a high risk high reward moniker he will become a point producer.

Hutton was a little bit of a let down to me but perhaps the sophomore jinx. But if we manage to keep Sbisa through the expansion draft I see him as a sought after Dman that might help us bring in a proven top six. Otherwise, his future is bright here but like Stetcher his D needs to improve.

Juolevi, books still out on him.

Brisbois, good ending to a junior career but books still out on him too.

Add in Gudbranson, Edler, Tanev, Sbisa, our D is rounding out. Still a couple of years away from solidifying into a cohesive 6-7 man unit.
