The previous record was seven. A military guy who went berserk after a night of drinking back in the 1980's.

You are not really supposed to spray the moose with bullets but to take them down with one shot.

This guy had four guns - two shotguns and two semi-automatic hunting rifles (not the AR type though) - all licensed to him, and three of them were found at the scene. The 35-yo perpetrator was in a class for people with autism when in high school, so probably on the spectrum, and has been unemployed for the past ten years. Lived alone with barely any social contacts and very little on line presence. Question is, is this the kind of person who should have four guns?

It is basically our first school shooting, if an adult education centre counts as a school, so I think the suggestion that all schools must be locked during the day is a bit drastic.

There was a guy who got shot at a school dance in 1961, and a high school student gunned down near his locker in the early 2000's. In the latter case he was killed by gang members who had some beef with his older brother. You could argue that neither of those were "school shootings", as they were basically cases of homicide against people that just happened to be on school premises when they were shot.

This is the first time ever someone has gone on a shooting spree at a school (or adult education centre).
There have been other incidents at schools though. A 21-yo guy dressed as Darth Vader killed three or four people with a sword on Halloween in 2015, and some 18-yo guy brought an axe to school in 2022 and killed two teachers. The axe murderer was also autistic. The guy with the sword was racist and specifically targetted immigrants.

The police are still very quiet about the details of this shooting, but there may have been racist motives, as it seems the victims were immigrants taking Swedish classes at the education centre and some witnesses claim to have heard the shooter shout "you don't belong in Europe".
