There is a story on Sprong. Apparently he started a bar fight with an Indy driver during the 2023 Detroit race events. Fight broken up, then Sprong come back and sicker punched the guy doing some damage to his teeth and causing a concussion.

Possibly some legal issues along with it. The guy has kept it quiet but decided to say something recently.

Whatever the "distraction" or "attitude" with Sprong, he came as advertised to Vancouver. Pretty quick, some good offensive skills, and a nightmare in his own zone. It was this last part JR and Allvin and Tockey thought the coaching staff could fix, but they really couldn't. At the end of the day, there's a huge cost to carry players you don't trust on the ice in the 3rd period of close games, whether he gets in bar fights or not.

It was clear to me when they signed him someone was losing a roster spot. Unfortunate they didn't sell high on Hoglander and give Podz another shot. Or simply unfortunate they thought they could fix Sprong like girls think they can fix bad boys. Are JR and Allvin naive girls? Discuss.
