Benning was a complete mongoloid with some of the moves he made.He was 40 % on top 10 picks. Not good enough. Look at the Jets top picks for a 5 plus year period. They have the spine of a good team for years to come.
The trades I can deal with for the most part. Sure Forsling blossomed elsewhere. Shit happens. Good draft prick. Terrible pro scouting regarding Adam Clendenning. Trading for Keith Ballard and David Booth were shitty moves because these guys sucked cap space. Not Air Thief bad.... but bad. All managers make dumb moves.
The huge problem I had with Elmo is the fact that he was a coward dealing with the media and as a manager could not lead. He was Lennie Small. The Covid fiasco, the Virtanen debacle. He hid like a coward and got Miller and Green to take the heat.
The Juolevi pick though is INEXCUSABLE. ANY scout that recommended that player to be drafted 5th overall in 2016 should be sorting clothes at Value Village

He was an obese dumb cunt. Should have topped out as a scout. Whoever though FF he was GM material is as stupid as he was. Frankie A. I think Trevor is smarter than that.

As soon as Trevor was signed word was on the street he was going after Benning. He spoke to Can Neely directly to get permission to speak to Benning and Neely sold high on him. It was a linden decision.

Yes Linden was the key cog in headhunting Jimbro Benning

Maybe Bennings biggest mistake was his hockey operations department and in paticular Weisbrod and Gear as his assistant GM's and Smyl as his Vice President of Hockey Operations...
Not much talent or experience around him especially for a first time General Manager...
As for Juolevi, it sucks that he dealt with injury after injury and the surgeries that came with them during his prime development years ..
Drafted in 2016 and back surgery in June 2018 followed by knee surgery in December of that year...And the injuries just kept coming...
Pretty common to hear from players how rehabing impacted their off seasons and regular season performance, with Juolevi he could never get breathing room away from rehab and playing at less than 100%...
Was he a bad pick or just bad luck?
Take care...

It was so long ago, my memory is only as good as my last meal - but wasn't it said about him, that he spent more time playing video games than training too?
I just remember him laying on the ice after a particular skating drill, and some of his teammates yelling at him to get up.
Or maybe that was me?

lol, I remember that too ....
I wonder if the player in question over the video game addiction has ever been disclosed? Jeff Marek who claimed to know who the player was had publically stated that it wasn't Juolevi..
Take care...

I’m seeing similar sloppiness from the new crew as with the past two crews. It all points to ownership

Thought the rumour was that it was Laine
From doing an AI search, Laine did mock the Canucks after Horvat banned video games on road trips calling them a waste of time which I'm sure went over well in the lockeroom...
And no Canuck player was ever diagnosed or treated for video game addiction...
Take care...

Horvat sounds like he was born to play for weird Lou Lamorello

Bo is on the straight laced side, for sure. Not Blobbee’s kinda wingman when prowling the DTES if you know what I mean.
