Proud of this group, they are all digging in and playing for each other. By no means a Picasso, but a beauty road win against and the big bad bruins.

One of the better efforts by Juulsen and Soucy. Plenty of room for improvement, but they worked hard.
D combined for 17 blocks.

So nice to have Joshua running around again. He and Sherwood combined for 17 hits.

Boston looked desperate out there. The boys were hard-pressed to get anything done in the neutral zone, and were at times uncharacteristically soft on their sticks.

Lankinen, though... yeah, the majority of the shots were from outside but there were a number of five-alarm stops he made in the third. This could easily have been 2-1 for Boston. Enjoy him this year, because he'll likely be gone next summer.

The offense and PP... are missing Miller - last year's Miller, that is. But they keep grinding out wins. :look:

If Lankinen can keep up this play, it puts Allvin in a very good position to deal him by the deadline, assuming Demko comes back to form and Silovs plays well in Abby. It’s doubtful he’ll re-sign here, as he’ll undoubtedly look for a multi-year deal and an opportunity to start. But there will certainly be desperate teams knocking at the door (Carolina, Colorado, Detroit, St.Loo) and he could return a real fine piece to the group, as any team can afford him.

Bruins need to rebuild.

They have been a top team for 16 years with a couple of unexpected mediocre seasons in there. Their core is now aging out.

They have a top goalie, a top pairing RHD, and a top flight winger. Pretty weak down the middle and not much in the cupboard that I've heard about.

Pull the trigger now with the trade pieces they have and you could see a Beantown powerhouse again by 2028.

Homegrown. :D

It was a good year for the crop, and I think I got the potency just. Right.
That's awesome Lancer. Was it outdoor this summer?

Or alternatively, to sign him long term and trade Demko.

We didn’t deserve that one. But I’ll take it. Lankinen stole the game for us. Way too many shots thru traffic imo. Ugly win, but still a win. Tocchet won’t be happy with the overall performance. Myers needs bifocals. He just can’t see his own feet

Yeah maybe so Donny.

But at the same time, do you want a ten million dollar goalie that can't carry a heavy workload without breaking down? I don't think I do.

And this Lankinen seems to stop the puck pretty well. That's all I need.

He's not a 10 million dollar goalie yet.

Got a lot of proving to do before we talk about that kind of coin.

Not sure you're getting much for him at this point either.

Some people were saying this about Silovs at the end of last season. I love what Lankinen is doing for us right now but it's a small sample size.
If the team is a playoff team at the deadline, both Lankinen and Demko will be on our team till the end of the year.

I thought Silovs needed another year in Abby. Still dio.

Demko only has another year or 2 before his contract is up. We should know by then how durable he is.
What would it take to sign Lankinen? 3 x $3M, 4 x $3.5?
Lock him up before the tdd

Demko has one year left at a bargain price. You could let him play out his contract to see if he can carry the load without getting hurt again.

Or you could bite the bullet and trade him next summer to somewhere that believes he can stay healthy and then lock up Lankinen and another high quality second tier goalie. It's risky either way but you might get a pretty good player in return for Demko if you can keep him healthy the rest of this year and playoffs.
