Chef will be the first to admit that he was wrong on Bo.
Horvat has 11 goals 5 on 5 this year. Impressive. Raty leads the Canucks in 5 on 5 even strength points. Yikes. Good on Raty, shitty on the rest of the team. Nuff said

Chef helped me create "Bo2Max".
We all love the shit-stirring Dude, but c'mon...
If you want to use hindsight, they should have kept the two old guys, saved money to deepen other positions, made a BOLD move by selling high on the so called "1C" and gotten quality prospects/picks back... this would have extended FA's mission of remaining competitive even if logic dictates the younger guy "should" be better for the long-term future.
I prefer the alternate reality instead of this one.
Funny thing is, Allvin and Ruth did well on the Horvat trade. Even though he’s ended up being the best of the three centres. However, had they traded Miller instead of Horvat they would’ve received a very good return on him due to how well he was playing at the time, a return most likely better than the Horvat return.

Some hockey guys on the radio were saying that others reported that the feeling around the Canucks front office was very much like just before the termination of Benning. They couldn't substantiate that, and I don't see any tells from the ownership side, either, but I think I might be seeing it from management.
The inconsistent spasms without a clear direction remind me of the death throes of the Gillis regime. He had a plan, it almost worked (but didn't), and then he didn't have a back-up plan -- or at least not one he could sell to ownership -- and flailed about a bit before they pulled the plug.
Maybe AIG policy is that any management team gets exactly one chance to formulate and execute a plan, and if it doesn't work, it's on to the next manager. It's hard to reconcile that with the time that Benning got, though -- unless they were counting the times with and without Linden as two different management groups.

Ronning, I think it’s pretty clear that the reason Benning lasted as long as he did was because he was the biggest yes man of them all. The ones who actually tried to push a new direction, rebuild or preach patience like Nonis, Gillis and Linden were fired.
This is the 5th season with Rutherford and Allvin running the show if you count their first season in which they were hired half way through the year in January. They’ve had enough time served to criticize and fairly analyze their “own” body of work and I think it’s safe to say that no regime has crashed the organization from something good to something shit the way and speed that these two have.
They are in last place in the entire league. That wasn’t the plan. These two have hit rock bottom.

Francesco has probably learned from his past mistakes too. Knows he shouldn't have waited so long to fire Benning, knows he shouldn't have hired a new coach before hiring a GM & Pres..

I never understood this trade. Is it simply because Tocchet didn’t like him? When you’re dead last they are still sticking you with knives making sure you’re dead enough.

Mistakes of a silver spooned brat completely disconnected from the teams fan base. I fully expect the unecessary mistakes to continue with these morons

I think it is Tocchet, he seems to hate Russians.

The life of a fan….spend years criticizing a former management team for their incompetency and then years later criticize the current management team for being just as incompetent for destroying what the previous incompetent management team had built….
So much quitting, some fans who promised to relocate to a new country if their guy didn’t get elected now want to see the team relocated to a new city because it sucks in their eyes…
So much naivety, a friend of a friend of a friend heard a rumor, which for some becomes the truth and they get all bent out of shape over it…
I get and agree to a point with much of doom and gloom, but before demanding the team relocate or heads be fired I remind myself …
The team leads the league in man games lost to injury which makes it hard to assess where this team stands as compared to healthy, more competitive teams around the league….
From the net to the blueline the future looks bright, with or without Demko and dare I say with or without Hughes …
Speaking of Demko and his injuries, show me a team which allows too many high danger East/West scoring chances and I'll show you a goalie who can't stay healthy....
EP is a legitimate first line centre…
Raty, who I was overly optimistic on when I posted last year that his upside compares to Horvat, looks to be a legitimate 3rd line centre and maybe a poor mans second line centre…
Cootes projects to be a legitimate 2nd line centre/captain type of a player….
The team has legitimate NHL wingers on the roster and is not a position that is as hard to find via trade or free agency…
But if I'M TOTALY ON AN ISLAND BY MYSELF and if ownership is ready to bail on this management group I’d be very surprised if a move is made before they settle the restructuring and buyout of their partner and how that gets funded…
The court case brought against Aqualini Sr and by extension his sons is expected to be heard this fall and between that and the need to find money to buyout Paolo I can’t see ownership spending more money on terminating contracts and paying the cost to do so…
I'd rather that they spend their money on building a practise facility and let this managment group continue until their contracts expire and then make their decision on extending or not...

All teams deal with injuries. They don’t end up in last place in the league like we do.

Yes, teams who lead the league in man games lost to injury end up 3 1/2 wins out of a playoff position after 30 games....

If this trade does go down, I think I'm probably done this time.
I'll blunder my own way along.

If the trade is happening the distracted owners and their personal issues with brother Paolo need to pull their heads out of their asses and ask Rutherford to step down and then bring in a new Pres to manage the situation with an untainted fresh pair of eyes. I don’t trust Rutherford to do well on this trade if there is a trade.
I find it peculiar how quiet Allvin is.

Drance was just on with D&D and I thought he covered the bases well on this story. Included was a cheerful reminder that Jack Gordon was allowed to execute the Neely trade six months
before being replaced by Pat Quinn. It's this kind of blundering along that is so discouraging.
