I have to admit at first, I thought, ...maybe trump would be different. To his credit he did not double down on armed conflict. He didn’t start carpet bombing Syria. I’m sure collateral Arabs are relieved about that.

But a very strong argument can be made that all he has done is shift the “bad guys” from ISIS to Mexican gangs and illegal immigration. So instead of the toothless brigade shouting kill all the terrorists. It’s build a wall and wage war on illegal immigration. It’s the same recipe with different ingredients.

Toss in the economic war on allies and enemies alike and it’s really no different at all to all his predecessors.

The degree may not be the same. Escalating involvement in the war on terror versus escalating the war on drugs via the war on immigration, but the effect is the same.

Trump is exactly no different than any other republican and most democrats. He uses false flags, phantom enemies and creates an atmosphere of fear because that’s the only way he can win enough support to get and stay elected.
