When I sigh in despair
Smoke comes out
Then I miraculously don't care

Petter Thoresen.
Hear me out.
If you can take a group of Norwegian hockey players, two of them borderline NHL, one in the AHL, mostly SHL players but some in the Finnish, German and Norwegian leagues, and then accomplish this:
Norway-Slovenia 4-0
Norway-Italy 4-0
Norway-Canada 5-6 (ot)
Norway-Sweden 3-2
Norway-Czechia 4-1
... you're a fucking brilliant coach.
Now I've only seen the games vs Canada and Sweden, but Norway played a very smart game.
Both Canada and Sweden had way better players, but Norway slowed the game down, kept them on the outside and were good at creating turnovers and capitalise on the opportunities they got. This and a good goaltender.
But mainly I think the games were won on better strategy and tactics.
The coach knew the vulnerabilities and strengths of his players and of the opponents and designed a game to fit those.
And as you can see they can also handle less skilled teams, like Slovenia and Italy.
The only blemish is the 1-2 loss against Slovakia in their first game. But even that game was better than expected of this group of players.
So there's our coach!

Nice post and theory Per.
Word is the Team and Malhotra are deep into negotiations currently so unless they lowball him (as well) to the point a negative response he is likely our man.
It will be intersting to see the Delta between his and RJ's salary numbers.

Given the pay scale, he best hope his kid buys him a house with his first cheque

The Moore's card and restaurant coupons should help him cope with the cost of living here on a league minimum salary.
He might just scrape by.
