Oh no love! you're not alone
You're watching yourself but you're too unfair
You got your head all tangled up but if I could only make you care
Oh no love! you're not alone
No matter what or who you've been
No matter when or where you've seen
All the knives seem to lacerate your brain
I've had my share, I'll help you with the pain
You're not alone

You had a grade 7 classmate commit suicide too? Wow the coincidence.

Nope, just quoting Bowie's Rock'n'roll Suicide. Seemed apt.

Folks had moved a couple of months earlier so I only knew the kid for a brief while. He didn't show up for school one week and by Wednesday word got around that he'd hung himself and why. No grief councillors to coddle us and make us feel sorrowful back then, we just understood he was a weird dude and moved on.

"Grief counsellors". What a joke.
Had a classmate hang herself in grade 10 at what was a very small alternative school ( I got in shit a lot). Used to sell her acid and we'd hang out at the West Van McDonald's, smoking cigarettes and drinking coffee like we were all cool. That Mickey Dees is long gone now, but in our years of angst it was the hangout for a couple hundred no-good punks like myself.
The morning after she died, our teacher calmly announced the news and we got on with our day. For me that consisted of stealing answer keys off the staff computer, trying to score broom-closet BJs from the girl that hated her dad, and snorting the ADD kid's Ritalin. They always wondered why the little fucker's Mëds didn't seem to be having any effect.
These days they bring in a trauma team to console the weeping masses when a fucking stranger dies. We are a soft and pathetic society.
