Doesn't sound like there will be any suspensions.

Not sure it's Wilson being Wilson this time... the Frenchy got 2 minutes for a high elbow on MacKinnon. Not a fan of cheapshot Wilson, but you can't let beer leaguers from D pool teams throw cheap hits on the 2nd best player in the world.

I don’t agree with that description. It wasn’t a high elbow. MacKinnon was very low when hit, and was hit in the face by the arm, which was at the side of the French player. The referees reviewed it and settled for a minor interference penalty. If it had been an elbow to the face it should have been a major+game.

They need to call a major on the ice to review it, so the refs originally called a major, then watched the video and changed their decision. I guess they ought to have shown that video to Wilson as well. :|

Also, MacKinnon was back on the ice immediately after the hit, so it couldn’t have been as bad as it first looked.

You would probably agree with the description if it was a Swedish player on the receiving end

Just because a hockey player immediately returns to the ice, how can anyone including team doctors deem any hit "not as bad as it first looked"? These are hockey players playing for all the marbles in a very important tournament.

What refs would pull players aside to show them video and convince them not to retaliate? I know you're being facetious, but that's how hockey players react in real time... hell, even some one or two Swedes might react the same way.
