So with JT out of the line up how much interest do we have in making a pitch to the other JT? Jonathan Toews.
It reads like he is healed up so maybe he's sniffing around for a job.

Rumours out there that the Rags are interested in JT again - Drury wanting to make a splash.
What does an acceptable offer look like?
Likely aren't going to part with their top two centres - but I'd certainly require one back in the trade or does Kakko move the needle enough? Add in a couple of defensemen to help with depth, perhaps K.Miller and Schneider?
Dollar-wise it works, Petey would have to carry the mail from now on though... big enough risk there, that even if Donny's rumours about a rift causing issues - I would be very hesitant to trade Miller unless they were willing to part with Lafreniere along with Kakko - but why would Drury do that? Old team as a whole, two young players on the upswing?
Not really seeing a fit here, but a risk to improve overall team depth worth it?

We are dead last in the league in FO% since JT left.JelloPuddingPop wrote: ↑Fri Nov 29, 2024 12:56 pm Rumours out there that the Rags are interested in JT again - Drury wanting to make a splash.

Pettersson can't carry the mail.
Trading Miller for anything that isn't an equivalent replacement at center by next season is closing the window on this iteration of the Canucks.
Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..

I do agree that Miller drives the bus. But can a good package of youngish 23-24 year old at key positions not keep that window open? KK at center. A some better D?

The 3 names I've "heard" are Kaako, Kreider and Trouba.
While we could debate relative value of each.
In a Miller deal?
Pass.

Not sure why they would want to trade one of their top two offensive play drivers (the team’s top centre) with a great contract while in an obvious window… for complimentary type wingers or a slow-footed slug with a horrible contract that would refuse to come north anyway.
Pass? None of those guys can.

Since we brought SKYO up.
Would we push our beat up shopping cart to CowTown and trade our first plus plus for a signed Rasmus Andersson?
(The plus plus not being sushi boy nor Willander)
Or.....
Would you include Willander if Andersson were signed for 8 more after next year?

Yeah, I know. These guys should try more logic than pumping out pipe dreams for trade ideas… wait, where am I?
I’m not giving up Tommy Weelander for nobody!

But seriously now...
I'd give up a lot for a re-signed Rasmus Andersson.
And then no doubt fall madly in love with him shortly thereafter.
