If Tolopilo is lost, we don't really have that #3 to fill in yet.
That’s what I mean by Spencer Martin. He wasn’t on the Canucks the start of the Greene fired season. If Tolopio were to be claimed, there will always be another guy like Spencer Martin available to throw in the net more advanced than the two likely AHL bound prospect goalies.

I have zero confidence that Demko will play a full season, or even 1/2. He'll be shell-shocked, and over worked.
Wonder if we can just put Tankinen on waivers? I would be surprised if anyone takes him and if someone actually takes him, they would do us a major solid.

Not without his permission. It’s a full no move clause this upcoming season.
While there are bigger impact bad signings, I don’t know that I’ve ever seen a dumber contract.
It is too much and for too long, that happens all the time, but with a nmc to invest in a career 30 yo backup who will never be a better than avg starting goalie (and is unlikely to be that) signed in February when you had 4 more months to evaluate a guy that you’ve been developing for 5 years and hadn’t played through his potential and for a role (backup) where you can find guys every season if needed for less than that salary, without that long term commitment…. All because you were worried (rightly) that Demko wouldn’t be healthy — but the guy had already proven that playing as well as he can he wasn’t good enough to get your team in the playoffs….
So dumb.
Will Lankinen be as terrible as he was last season? I doubt it. So there’s that.

As bad....perhaps not.....better...hopefully....worse....it legit could happen.
The epitome of TFG's that contract.
Asinine.
Not 1 motherfucker on this board would have signed him to that deal.

I believe that the trade value for a couple of our vets will increase after all the big fish are signed up in the first couple of weeks of FA which all starts tomorrow at 9:00.

Surrey building a 10,000 seat stadium for the Giants. Canucks should have moved the baby nucks there and added a practice facility to it. It will be at King George and 104th which is a surprisingly good spot for an arena.

Not with his NMC. :/ But... he has a 15 team list in 27-28.

Is that where the Lion's have their current facility?

Geez, if I didn't know better I would say Rutherford was trying to hurt us intentionally with a lot of these head shakers. How could Mr Aquilini sit back and watch this stuff for as long as he did?

Breeze has been such a cool story for this franchise. I hope they give him a scouting job or something when he finally hangs em up.

You forgot the signing bonuses that make this contract buyout proof too. It's a full year university course in stupid signings.

Or, he could be a capologist for the AHL players. Showing them how to earn that sweet NHL money while on SOIR.

Tankinen's contract is set to help us attain the highest draft picks possible until we are ready to compete again.
We can always just start him every back to back if the contract becomes an issue, no way knees and hips can withstand that on the West Coast.

I think Lankinen was an Allvin guy.
