With some draft day luck and a trade win or 3 this off-season they could potentially be following the sharks development path out of the stinkhole within a couple of years.

Yeah...we have discussed this on the Main Board.

There is opportunity in place.

The obvious issue at hand being TFG's.

Just had to say, this shootout goal by LK94 is absolutely filthy. He just flicks it a little bit and the puck explodes off his stick hitting the top corner. Looking like Kuzzy96 in his 1st yr here. :P

Dude has 35 points in 76 games with 12 minutes of ice and 1 minute on the PP.

Impressive first full year in the show.

He is also a -26 but we can take that as a team issue this go around.

Dude has 15 goals... the same as one of his countryman that is making way more coin.

He plays the game the way TFGs expected the guy with 2 goals to play.

What's funny is that that dude is now finally the better player than Miller
I find it hard to compare the progress of defencemen and forwards, but I note that JJ Perterka was still on the board at #20, and I think he'd do more to accelerate the rebuild than Miller, or any of the players acquired in the Miller trade. (The 12th overall in 2025, on the other hand...)

I was saying with the tongue squarely in cheek because Blob was so critical of that trade at the time

I was also critical of the trade at the time -- and for several seasons thereafter.

I am only lately persuaded it was successful because it proved to be possible to trade Miller away again for a decent haul, even with a reduced list of possible trade partners.

If they had traded him at peak value for assets that would help in 2028, it would have been a masterstroke of asset management (across two administrations).

The way it all shook out, though, I'd rather the Canucks just had Peterka now.
