I haven't watched a game in so long, I'm surprised that diving is still such a big part of it.

It’s an unfortunate tactic to keep the defenders scared from being aggressive while checking so the ball carrier can have more freedom

Oh yeah - I get that - it's just embarrassing for the sport.
Still the 'Caps came back and controlled play - let's hope they keep it up in the 2nd.

Once the yellow cards get out of the way in the beginning of the game the defenders have to lay off allowing for more offence in the game. It can be frustrating for sure. It’s all chess playing.

Flashback to Sept 9, 1979 - the Vancouver Whitecaps had just won the Soccer Bowl and were back in Vancouver to celebrate. They went from the airport to downtown for a parade, and I caught this shot of Captain John Craven with the trophy.

Miami was doing a lot better earlier when they challenged the play - now they're sitting back and helping us out.

a couple of HUGE momentum swings, and we never got it back. That second goal seemed to kill them.

Great game, Whitecaps had an opportunity to win but couldn’t find the net. A couple mistakes and Miami scored on them.
Miami salary - $50.0M
Vancouver salary $19.0M
