Acceptable road record.
Everything wrong with the Canucks' fanbase can be summed up in that statement. Low expectations which beget mediocre efforts by ownership to ice a winning product at all costs.

If they had lost games where it could have gone either way, then yes, acceptable road record. Against Pittsburgh and Nashville they did not have acceptable efforts. The shot totals in Nashville were pathetic. By the mid-point of the 2nd period the Canucks had been given 5 PP's (one a 90 second 2 man advantage) to Nashville's 2 PP's.....and they were being out-shot 16-8.

The final SOG tonight were 35-22 for Nashville, 10 of the Canucks 22 shots came in the 3rd period.

This was a very winnable game.....they didn't win.

Even so…. It was an acceptable road trip given injuries and missing boeser for one..sure it could’ve been better but as you know we don’t have the horses to power through these situations at this point…

With respect to EP or the team?

Sure. But they only lost one game without Boeser.

The loss in Pittsburgh was one you can shrug off because it came after 3 wins in a 4 day slog with heavy travel. Tonight was against a team that many do not consider to be a playoff team. It's not the loss that is irksome, it is the lopsided loss. 2-1 is not representative of anything other than how damned good Demko had to be just to keep it close.

Either/or?

I think it's a system and personnel issue (not just EP).

I think that the system is not drawn up to promote away from the puck movement. If it is, then the coaches should be fired or players should be moved out, because that is not what we are seeing happen.

Too often players are receiving a pass when they are open but they are in a position where they cannot quickly shoot. Taking the puck on their backhand because they are deployed on the wrong side of the ice. This is a system and coaching problem, imesho.

Players who are supposed to shoot the puck but do not.....move them off of the PP for a while and when they get their next chance see if they respond.

The passing is not crisp. This is on personnel (many).

On Voldemort.....

I've liked what I've seen in regards to own-zone play and his efforts at carrying the puck or taking the puck on the fly to gain the zone. He's not dumping it in and bailing on contact. I'll give him that. However, too many times I'm watching him make a move that catches a defender off-guard and it looks like he is going to go around or inside for a scoring chance, but the defender gives him a one-armed shove and he ends up on his ass. Also, his face-offs are putrid.

Yeah...

Nashville certainly appear what they seemed to be on paper pre-season which is a minimal factor, non-playoff team.

Having said that O'Reilly, Stamkos, Forsberg and Marchessault (I realize he was out tonight) would seem a more credible group of forwards than the what is available in the Canucks top 6.

It seems (to me anyway) a mid (at best) group.

Early season yet but handicapping the playoff favourites in the West currently Anaheim and Utah have leapfrogged the Canucks & would be fielding better betting numbers than us with respect to qualifying.

Thank goodness for Demko as Mëds said.

I hope #40 finds the fire in his O game soon to start representing that "revenge" season he promised.

We shall see....a long way to go yet.

Having said all that the schedule creators have not done this team any favors but you have to play the games put in front of you and it's Management's job to have capable injury replacements in place.

6 of 8 on the road against some tough oppnents. 4-4 is ok but Pettersson needs to start racking up some points. Pretty boring team to watch.

Liked some of the effort at times of most of the team. The trio of Sassoon, Bains and Karleson look like they empty the tank on every shift( as infrequent as it is). They are given it. Just no finish for all their hard work. Except for Sassoon who's had a some good finish.
Kane at times looks like Miller. Lazy back checker on certain plays and then busts his ass on other plays. Not consistent enough. Plays when he feels like it.
Demko is playing elite!

Snoozer. Team looked tired. Even the energy guys were out of gas.

Needs a 2, Hoglander and someone who fights to add some energy to the bench.

They've played 6 of 8 games on the road.
