PJ is saying Chicago might not be the only team in on this?

Someone else must really want a 2nd or Mikheyev!

Apparently this, unnamed team, is also on his no trade list.

I imagine he'll waive for anywhere at this point.

Someone said his agent worked out this trade (unconfirmed).

Also, if he refused to waive, Canucks could put him on waivers

... with Hawks claiming him.

Then they swap the picks + Lafferty as planned.

But yeahno, he'll waive, great opportunity for him in Chicago.

Just spitballin' here

wonder if it is Carolina?

Mikheyev + 2nd to Carolina for Jake Guentzel's rights?

This would allow the Canucks to offer Jake an extra year in a contract to bring down the cap hit.

You must have a player on your roster by the trade deadline in order to offer that 8th year.

So yeah, would have to be a sign-n-trade deal.

will have to see what the cap we save here goes to, but I'm not excited about throwing around yet another 2nd to fix a problem. Doc was right that the cost has changed, at least it's not a 1st, but a 2nd still has a lot of value, especially for a team who will want to be upgrading at the deadline for a playoff run.
If we end up signing all the players we are hoping to, I'm sure I'll move on from this thought, but let's see.

I'm always curious when you hear "the agent helped make the trade". Other than maybe encouraging him to waive the ntc, what role does the agent play in it? You're telling me the Canucks office didn't know chicago would take a 2nd for him? the management is paid how much money and they havn't already phoned every fucking team? They'd only take a 2nd from Milstein and not Allvin?

How about....

Help me out and take Mikeyhev off the Canucks hands and dude xxxx you've asked about who is a UFA next year and would actually like to play with Bedard we give you first and last crack at.

If I can help convince PA to toss a 2nd in instead of the 3rd he's offering we can make it work?

Probably a good move, but losing another second sucks, especially since they didn’t snag anymore Mcwards or Sassons at the end of this NCAA season.

$11.6 million Scooter Boy and a very recent Stanley Cup winning defender approve of this cap clearing deal.

2nd pick to get rid of Mikheyev
1st and 4th round pick for Lindholm
3rd and 5th round pick for Zadorov
5th round pick for Lafferty
3rd round pick for DeSmith
1st and 2nd rd pick for Hronek
7th rd pick for Kravtsov
5th rd pick for Bear
2nd rd pick for Stillman
3rd rd pick for Dermott

Two 1st rd picks
Three 2nd rd picks
Three 3rd rd picks
One 4th rd pick
Three 5th rd picks
One 7th rd pick

In just two seasons Allvin has traded 13 picks.

He’ll make up for it by signing more Hirose’s and McWards.

Hronek may end up being the only asset to show for all those picks traded. Don’t think UFAs Lafferty and DeSmith are staying
