I've got it. We've been looking to get rid of Eriksson for awhile now and the team we just played may have presented us an opportunity. Sounds like Vegas is keen on re-signing Lehner to a long-term deal
L.Eriksson
for
M.A. Fleury
It'll be tuff to move on from Marky, but we gotta do what we got to do. A tandem of Fleury & Demko is not bad, whoever is hot will play. Fleury may have to waive any no movement clauses he may have, we'll have to expose him in the xpansion draft.
I pondered it too. We take on an extra million of cap, but we get our goalie. And, Vegas gets a shutdown 4th liner. Over-all, it kinda works. But it's not a great deal for either team. Still, getting rid of Loui frees up $6, and a back-up was going to be $2-3. So, this does save us some cap space.

Yeah no sorry Dickie Dee. Chef has bagged on Horvat for four years +. He hates the kid.
My bad, in my proposal of running with miller as a center I’d want them playing equal minutes with whoever is hot that game getting a little extra, vegas style.

I’d agree with this if we had more quality forwards. Right now, Virtanen, Toffoli and Leivo are all question marks for various reasons next year.
The Chef loathes Horvat. I thought everyone knew that.

If Vegas wants to dump Fleury I think they would pay the price in prospects/picks rather than take a bad contract back.

Only way you get Pietrangelo in Vancouver is at a minimum of $8Mx7. Probably gonna take closer to $9M.
Hughes - Pietrangelo
Edler - Myers
That would be a helluva top-4.
Only a handful of teams could throw money around like that this year, and wouldn't ya know it, Detroit is one of them with a projected $34M in cap space, and not a ton of super talented guys to spend it on in raises.
So Eriksson + Jake Virtanen + the rights to Markstrom (sign/trade) all for a 2020 Caps 2nd + 2021 Vegas 3rd.

Benning is in a situation where a decision affects another decision and that decision affects another and so I’m assuming it all starts with Priority no. 1 - Markstrom? And so the longer the Markstrom contract drags out the longer we wait for the dominos to fall on everything else? I’m off the mark on this? Trying to guage how much time can Benning afford on waiting to push the first domino?
