LOL. I knew that would get you to respond. But its what I thought too when I first read it. Apparently the whole team was really sick. So the whole team making excuses for their poor play. Well the coaching staff was not the players.

I didn’t think that Sweden played poorly overall.

Lost to Canada by 1 in OT

Lost to Finland by 1 in OT

Beat the US by 1 in OT

A few of there guys weren’t great, and certainly one massively underperformed. But really, Sweden doesn’t have the horses to compete with Canada or the US at this level.

Excuses not really necessary.

Regardless, Petey has the rest of the season to prove to everyone that he’s someone worth having around at his salary. After that, it’s a question of faith by management that he can turn it around this off-season.

Thank fuck Chytil has dramatically exceeded my expectations. He's looking like the best player in the trade to me (so far)
If the franchise need to move Miller was as urgent as this thread makes it seem, then I think management did a great job of getting value back on a player with an NTC.

But it leaves a big hole at an important position. Do you see any free agents coming up who could fill that hole, and whose expected salary demands are in line with what the Canucks have managed to free up in cap space?

That will be a tough hole to fill for sure, and for that reason I don't see them moving on from Pettersson either. Top end centers are just too hard to come by.

How much longer can we wait? It's been a calendar year

I am officially joining the move the problem movement

I just don't think they'd get anyone to take on that contract atm. And then they'd need 2 top end centers , unless Chytil has dramatic upswing.

They need 2 now and are paying 11.6 sheets per for the right.

Your boy KL got signed for some sweet change dangler.

Cap space.

Just shedding EP's deal and creating different opportunities could be better than a draft pick.

Swap EP in a centre back deal where the opponent takes on the contract and call it done.

Sure, cap space is great, but if there aren't any top end,100 pt. Ufa centers(and chances are there won't be), then what good is the cap space? I guess if your ok with a 20-45 pt. Center like Chytil coming back, or if you think Buffalo is going to take on that contract when they've got a similar (stats wise, this season) but younger, cheaper center in Cozens. I know things are extremely bleak atm with EP40%, but there is still a chance he bounces back. Replacing Miller is going to be tough enough.

That's where the experienced and brilliant Ops team in the Canucks front office swing dicks and deals and sort it out.

Kinda like Vegas and Florida (Seth Jones) GM's do.

I'm not getting paid to figure it, they are.

You were correct Donny. The Balderson's shot themselves in the face. Bad instincts.

It was urgent. Miller was a poisonous asshole for the team.

I don't care if they need 4 top centres. Move the stringy Swede too. They both had a large hand in destroying this team. Losers, one and both.
