Stamkos going to free agency.
Brisebois makes it sound like they are leaving the offer there for him to take but not increasing it.
Detroit and Nashville the most interested parties from the sounds of things. I’d say Detroit has the edge there due to familiarity between Yzerman and Stamkos, as well as proximity to Ontario where Stamkos is from.
Depending upon the term he’s seeking, I’d take a flyer on him in Vancouver.

Chef is definitely all in on Stamkos. He can think on Peteys level.Mëds wrote: ↑Sun Jun 30, 2024 12:06 pm Stamkos going to free agency.

Is that what EP11.6 is doing when he stands stationary on the ice looking skyward whilst the game plays on?
Thinking at an elite level??
Now it all makes sense...

Sigh. It’s so true.
I’ve embraced the fact that JR/PA are not going to move on from him and we’re stuck with him for the next 8 seasons barring a player request for new scenery. So we just have to try and find a way to surround him with players who add some buoyancy to that boat anchor of a contract.
The other piece to going hard on Stamkos as a linemate is that if by June 1 of next year Petey hasn’t learned a shit ton about being an elite leader and pace setter from a guy like Stammer, then maybe coaching and management get the wake up call and use the following 29 days to rectify their mistake and move him before his NMC kicks in on July 1st 2025.

Should we just continue lining Petey up with 3rd and 4th line scrubs, Donny? You tell me, I’m at a loss.

Yeah I dunno Chef.
It's not a good scene with Elias right now and I can seem him as moody and emotional enough for it to be an issue in the room as well.
Getting an A lister to partner with him is likely the best plan as you have been banging on for some time.
Hence the Guentzel chatter.
Stamkos would be far better and for shorter term.
Can't see it happening though.
Older players look at our travel and cringe....I see him in the East.

Petey worked well with Kuzmenko. Too bad the coach didn’t.

Elias Lindholm would be a great option!donlever wrote: ↑Sun Jun 30, 2024 1:28 pm Yeah I dunno Chef.

Lol BoS...indeed....
Signing him would also offset the loss in capital sent to acquire him.
They should have thought of that.

Re: Rebooted Around the League - 23/24
Tocchet gave it away in a presser regarding Petey’s playoff struggles, “he’s young”. That little nugget explained it all for me regarding, Petey. His immaturity showed loud and clear in the playoffs, but in my optimism this experience for Petey will prove beneficial for this club moving forward. Sometimes ya gotta hit bottom when maturing as a human. I believe he recognized this ugly performance of his and has learned from it, how old is he? 24? He’s still a kid.donlever wrote: ↑Sun Jun 30, 2024 1:28 pm Yeah I dunno Chef.

You're not saying Petey needs to hit the bottle are you Chef?

Re: Rebooted Around the League - 23/24
Yeah....NHL history is riddled with kids younger than he accomplishing great things....BUT...I get your point.
Looking forward to '24/'25 to see what we get out of him.
Hope they bring in some help so he's not saddled with plugs and slugs.
In terms of the Canucks I would love nothing more than to be wrong about this kid.
We shall see....
