1957-58 New Westminster Royals. Several Royal players went on to become part of the 1960-61 expansion Portland Buckaroos, including Art Jones, Arnie Schmautz, Arlo Goodwin, Ron Mathews, Gord Fashoway, and coach Hal Laycoe.

My dad used to say that Orland could throw the dukes pretty well.

Yep. Kurt was a legitimate NHL heavyweight. The top tier guys were John Ferguson, Kurtenbach, Reg Fleming, Ted Harris and Ted Green.
