Nothing is guaranteed yet. If we miss the playoffs this season we will have a 1st round pick.
That will bring joyle to Doyle
I’d rather see them make the playoffs. Be a shame to see them fold like a cheap tent down the stretch. If they do miss, it would be nice to get some lotto luck and get a top 3 pick.

We’d be drafting near the end of the lottery zone. I like that 6’-2” 210 RH D-man out of Brandon - Schneider

Yeah it would be nice to see Jimbro add some high-end defense prospects this draft

This is going to be interesting if they don’t resume playing, what will happen to the Canucks pick.

Apparently the Canucks made the playoffs by default of where the season ended. So this I assume makes the Devils the decider of the pick
The biggest benefactor of all of this is Ottawa. Holy fuck will they hit gold with where their two picks are

I’m not sure, because if there’s no hockey until October, the Canucks didn’t actually play any playoff games, so they should retain the pick. I guess there are several scenarios that could play out.

The Devils may bitch about this, as far as I know, by where the season ended the Canucks were in a playoff position

Agreed. Without actually playing any playoff games yet technically just barely "qualifying"....who gets the prize?
This will be the most interesting story line if they dont resume the season

To me it’s simple, they were technically in the playoffs when the season ended therefore putting the ball in the Devils court. Although I can see the Canucks having an argument as well

It cannot be ranked as it stands because not all teams played the same amount of games.
Unless everyone is good with a computer simulation of how it would have finished.

Maybe it’s as simple as all the Wild card teams in and around there do a separate lottery roll? Weighted to those in the best position Not or To make the playoffs?
