Game 2.

Comets 2 Marlies 5

Dahlen & Goldobin seemed to be developing some chemistry, but no pay off this game.

The Swedish national team coach has confirmed that he wants Elias Pettersson to play at the World Championship.

I'm sure he's honored and will say yes but from a Canuck standpoint:
I'd rather see him on a plane for North America. :mrgreen:

To do what here?

The World Championships is far better hockey than AHL playoffs. Plus it's not very drawn out and then he can work on offseason training and putting on some more muscle.

Plus I don't even know if he could qualify for the AHL right now.

Jesus, did the helmet leach into his skin? :eh:

Honestly I think it's just as important that the Canucks put some more muscle in the lineup next season as it is Elias adding his own.

The league is littered with guys who are relatively slight, to last they are quick and get some protection so guys think twice about hitting them hard!

Sure.... makes perfect sense Fred. Why play 6 or 7 games with the National team when you could dress for one in Utica.

I read that Linden was 183 lbs after the memorial cup win and got to 200lbs for Canucks training camp. Petterson and Linden look like they have similar body types. I suspect that Petterson will be fine at the NHL level; although, I would feel better if Benning acquired a little protection/deterent for him.

William Nylander is over 20 lbs heavier than the day he was drafted

Juolevi grew in height and weight considerably as well

As always, more, (as in simplistic), explanation needed.
Wasn't even thinking about Utica. :roll:
He's just coming off a hell of a long, record breaking, season. High intensity, high emotion.
So like sure, let him play his ass off at the Worlds.
Think maybe there might be some pissed-off players there?
Has that been the case in the past?
Ya. Push the kid to the limit. Let'a see what he's made of.

Guess my ideas on asset management differ from most.

Oh, and muscle isn't something that should be forced. To do so is ignorant and detrimental to over-all health and advancement.

Seeing as the Stanley Cup playoffs are played at the same time as the World Championship;
Hoping that the Canucks will be a highly successful team over the years to come;
Noting that Bettman and his henchmen did not release the NHL players to participate at the recent Olympics,

the least we can demand is to get to see Elias Pettersson don the blue and yellow in at least one freaking tournament! :evil:

Who knows when that will happen again? :scowl:

Pettersson hasn't signed his ELC with Vancouver yet, I'm thinking he was available for the Olympic team, but they went with a more veteran team (I could be wrong)

On another note, why hasn't he signed? Are they waiting until after July 1 so he falls under the 2yr threshold for Seattle's expansion?
