The refereeing is horrible.
Latvia kinda got screwed there in the 2nd

I can't see them going far this year.
Not cohesive at all, offence or defense
Cohesion is a good way of putting it. A complete lack thereof

Who was that kid from Abby Topper used to like?

This Brunicke looks just like him to me
That hack that plays for the Flyers. Garbage player.
Brunicke is already on the Pittsburgh roster at 19.

And a career like Juulsen's is not too shabby.

Point taken Blob.

McKenna can definitely make a pass, but buddy, can you do more than that please?

If one wants to see skill on display watch Cole Hutson, the guy brings you out of your seat every shift. Is McKenna not capable of this? I thought he was the next great thing?

Brunnicke is already a better player than Juulsen. Kid will be a solid second pairing guy. 20 mn last night and was +3. Not a be all end all stat but Zayne deseved his -3 last night.

Hope Canada wins. I knoww I'm in the minority here. 🤢

It’s a teeny tiny country, but they started playing hockey before russia did. After they were annexed by the Soviet Union Dinamo Riga was one of the best teams in the Soviet league. After they were annexed Soviet Union broke up they continued to play in the KHL and formed the backbone of the Latvian national team. Since the russians started their illegal invasion of Ukraine both Dinamo Riga and the Finnish team Jokerit withdrew from the league in protest. Jokerit had to start over in the Finnish second tier league but is likely to get promoted to the Finnish SM-Liiga next year. Sadly Dinamo Riga has now folded after playing one season in a local Latvian league. The league they have now in Latvia is of questionable quality, but many of their juniors play abroad. If you look at the current squad there are players playing in Sweden, Finland, Czechia, Switzerland, Germany, Canada and the USA. They take a lot of pride in their national team, so I hope they can keep it going. It would have been nice if either Finland or Sweden had opened up a slot for Dinamo Riga, but that did not happen.

Help me out here, I seem to be overly negative, what are the positive takeaways here? I’m struggling to find them.

I have liked the work og Mighael Hage so far.

Cole Beaudoin seems like a handy player too.

Beaudoin works hard, no issues with Hage’s game and drive, same with Iginla. McKenna is just watching out there. Martone needs to move his feet, way to stationary. Misa is fighting the puck. Martin is kind of a nothing player, don’t notice him. Reschny is more noticeable today.

Mike Grier decided to mothball Misa all year instead of sending him to the NCAA. Big mistake, but he's starting to shake the cobwebs now.
