I just checked twitter/X and the first thing to come up when I typed in McDavid was Sid Sixeiro excusing McDavid's behavior.
Yeah, I'm surprised by this as well. Pleasantly so.Lancer wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2025 4:14 pmIt was a good’er.Megaterio Llamas wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2025 4:08 pmSeriously. Wow. I didn't watch that game. I think it was the first one I missed this year.
I’m mildly and pleasantly surprised when they got matching suspensions. I thought they were going to go soft on McBaby because, well, he’s McBaby. Then again, it’s the doldrums of the regular season. The stakes aren’t THAT high. They can look like they’re tough on the stars, so when they wink and nod later on in the season or post-season someone can point to this suspension as proof of their integrity - however flimsy.
Yes it's Tocchets fault. Wait!! No it's Millers fault. It's the damn Media!!Megaterio Llamas wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2025 3:41 pmI'm starting to think Peter is playing exactly the way Tocchet wants him to play, and he has drummed every ounce of creativity out of him in the process. If this is the case, there is probably nothing Tocchet can do to reverse the process, the die is cast. And they might be on the clock with regard to a new coach ever being able to bring Peter around again.Lancer wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2025 3:19 pmTocchet is in the Miller camp, yet keeps him on a short ice time leash and gets into it with him on the bench. You would think it would be the other way around. Miller has his issues, but yeah, Tocchet needs to figure out what it’s going to take for Petey to play up to his contract.Chef Boi RD wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2025 2:32 pmWord has it, Tocchet is in the Miller camp, so that definitely holds some waterMegaterio Llamas wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2025 2:20 pmDo you think they have ever contemplated the fact that they have a coach who can't get his franchise center to play above third teir level? I think if they're considering trading Miller to solve their problems they're treating the wrong problem.Chef Boi RD wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2025 2:15 pm It’s best to keep Miller. The offers are absolute shite. I believe that’s why he’s still a Canuck today.
Sid has been all over "the NHL needs to protect its stars" since the incident.Megaterio Llamas wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2025 4:14 pm Sid Sixeiro excusing McDavid's behavior.
He of Breakfast Television in Toronto fame.
Would you trade one of your top two centers before you would maybe try changing the coach? I'm not saying that's fair, but since wjhen is life ever fair. The fact is, Peter plays this way for Tocchet, and Tocchet seems okay with it. Almost like it's what he wants from him. Of course I could ge wrong. Wouldn't be the first time.dangler wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2025 4:25 pmYes it's Tocchets fault. Wait!! No it's Millers fault.
