Chytil - injured all the time
Lindgren - an American and pending UFA this summer
1st rd pick with conditions was the offer, apparently
In other words, garbage. Worst than the Horvat return
Not even in the same stratosphere as the Horvat deal. Just garbage.
But then, how do we really know any of this is true?
I'm skeptical.
It’s been reported by quite a few shitheads on X
That's what I thought. How can you trade away the guy whose name the fans chant at wrestling events, never mind at Canucks games? This guy is far and away the most popular player with the fans on the team, even if the media has never really liked him. This whole drama has that peculiar Vancouver hockey media soap opera stench to it, to me at least. I hope I;m rifght on this one for once.

Apparently the Canucks like Kotkaniemi or Roslevic in Carolina
Take them out to pasture then. They haven't got it anymore if that's the case.

It’s best to keep Miller. The offers are absolute shite. I believe that’s why he’s still a Canuck today.

Allvin’s comment regarding Tocchet “it’s a two way street”, was interesting. If you read between the lines, Tocchet may not want to re-up here, his contract is up at seasons end.

Hopefully this gets resolved soon - was hoping the presser would be a commitment to keeping both players. As I agree with Mëds, that would be best case scenario, players don't have to like each other - just have to be committed to playing.
Rumors of the NYR trade are awful, Chytil is a 30 point player, and Lindgren a lower end 2nd pair guy. Neither would help make this a good team. The 1st, if they can flip it for another player like Hronek might be the only thing that makes that might save that deal.
Canes are apparently offering Kotkaniemi and Roslovic. Garbage on top of garbage...
A bidding war closer to the deadline would be the next best option I think, but can they co-exist until then, and keep working towards a playoff spot? Rick got the GM's vote of confidence, is that the death knell or is that a shot at the players to step up and listen, as the coach isn't going anywhere?

Do you think they have ever contemplated the fact that they have a coach who can't get his franchise center to play above third teir level? I think if they're considering trading Miller to solve their problems they're treating the wrong problem.

Word has it, Tocchet is in the Miller camp, so that definitely holds some water

It seems Kotkaniemi and Chytil types is about as good as your getting back for Miller in a package. It seems we are forgetting how old Miller is, he turns 32 in two months. Also need to consider whom and how many Miller has waived for which apparently is rumoured to be 6. That hamstrings Allvin as well but at least not as bad as Kesler hamstrung us when he wanted out, only waiving for two teams - Chicago and Anaheim was it?

Not sure why Allvin said that... it's a club option, not a player option.
Allvin clarified that at the very end of the presser.

Tocchet is in the Miller camp, yet keeps him on a short ice time leash and gets into it with him on the bench. You would think it would be the other way around. Miller has his issues, but yeah, Tocchet needs to figure out what it’s going to take for Petey to play up to his contract.

I'm starting to think Peter is playing
exactly the way Tocchet wants him to play, and he has drummed every ounce of creativity out of him in the process. If this is the case, there is probably nothing Tocchet can do to reverse the process, the die is cast. And they might be on the clock with regard to a new coach ever being able to bring Peter around again.

Absolutely. I do get the impression that these guys are heavily invested in him though.
