Haven't been a fan of Cherry for years, but just coming back from the ceremony at our local cenotaph and I have to agree, “You people … you love our way of life, you love our milk and honey, at least you can pay a couple bucks for a poppy or something like that. These guys paid for your way of life that you enjoy in Canada, these guys paid the biggest price.”

Yes - I saw his apology, and the whole "I didn't catch it at the time" bs - but then, maybe Ron just learned to tune Cherry out over time.

As for firing Cherry over the comment - meh - he's said as bad or worse over the years, and it was uncalled for - but he should have got away with an on-air apology.
