Unfortunately, the draft is a bad one this year. Nucks are tanking in the wrong year.
I don't see anyone offering up the Canucks any top young centers with size such as Patrick anytime soon, so I'll be more than ecstatic if we got him.

Trying to trade for Draisaitl or Dylan Strome, imagine the cost for those guys?

Patrick or Vilardi, is just another piece for the future for this low-key rebuilding team.
Those who think Patrick or Vilardi or Liljegren or Hirschier or Rasmussen or Mittlestat wouldn't be nice additions to our prospect depth are out to lunch
Agreed RD, 100%.

Adding 1 of these would go a long way to improve the team.

Fred may say otherwise.
I do not think I am your grandfather. Your Mom swore she used birth control :D :D

But if my mom lied about birth control and you knocked her up

Not impossible though.

Iirc, King Tut was his mother's younger brother, which means his father was also his maternal grandfather.

The ancient Egyptians were weird that way. :|
Since the royals were supposedly divine, they couldn't intermingle with mere mortals, and so the pharaoh had dibs on all his female relatives...

That is what the smiley faces were for. Sigh! They sure were not for you. Have you ever looked up 'concrete' in terms of thinking?

Thanks for clearing that up Damon!

I was worried your traditional family ways were along the lines of King Tut as spelled out by Per.

BTW shouldn't you be angry with Per right now? :eh:

What for? If any of that applied to him, wouldn't it mean he were divine? :eh:

Like... like Steve Martin! :look:

He is learning the game and will be a good one. How about that Marner (as long as he is alive. God he is small)?

Well... he does "dupe".

I guess you missed it.

Per suggested that perhaps, like Tut, you are into knocking up your own daughter!

(that Swedish punk!)

BTW, you say you believe in online honesty, care to tell the class how old you are gramps? :mex:

If not, that's fine, just trying to be sociable...

BTW I was created in a laboratory.

I did not.

You pointed out that sleeping with your mom wouldn't make him your grandfather, and I merely pointed out that it didn't rule it out either, citing King Tut as an example. I did not suggest that dbm actually is your combined father/grandfather.

Incest seems to have been the law of the land among the old patriarchs of the bible as well. If we are to believe the bible, Abraham married his half sister Sara, the righteous Lot fathered his own grandchildren by sleeping with his two daughters, Isaac married two sisters (who happened to be his cousins), Moses's parents were aunt and nephew, etc, etc. Nasty immoral bunch, those biblical heroes!

I personally believe dbm to be morally superior to those degenerates, but you know, anything is possible, and for all I know, he could well be your grandfather. :drink:

Laine has 1 goal in last 8 games and Matthews is clearly the far better overall player. Laine is crap 5 on 5. Matthews is 2 points behind and will pass him soon.
You build around a two-way #1 Centre, not a one-dimensional winger.
Here's the advanced stats of all the top rookies:
Zone and Score Adjusted Stats

Corsi For %

1. Matthews 54.5% (+5.8rel)
2. Nylander 54.2% (+5.1rel)
3. Werenski 52.0% (+4.5rel)
4. Konecny 51.2% (+1.4rel)
5. Marner 47.5% (-4.2rel)
6. Vesey 46.8% (-1.9rel)
7. Laine 43.7% (-7.5rel)

Fenwick For %

1. Matthews 54.5% (+6.8rel)
2. Nylander 53.6% (+5.3rel)
3. Konecny 51.0% (-0.3rel)
4. Werenski 50.6% (+3.9rel)
5. Marner 47.0% (-4.0rel)
6. Vesey 46.2% (-4.2rel)
7. Laine 43.5% (-7.8rel)

Shots For %

1. Matthews 53.8% (+6.6rel)
2. Werenski 53.6% (+8.5rel)
3. Nylander 52.1% (+4.3rel)
4. Konecny 49.6% (-1.4rel)
5. Marner 46.6% (-3.6rel)
6. Vesey 43.4% (-7.5rel)
7. Laine 40.2% (-10.2rel)

Scoring Chances For %

1. Nylander 57.5% (+4.7rel)
2. Matthews 56.4% (+3.2rel)
3. Vesey 53.0% (-3.2rel)
4. Marner 53.0% (-1.6rel)
5. Werenski 52.0% (+3.7rel)
6. Laine 40.8% (-10.1rel)
7. Konecny 40.5% (-2.3rel)

Expected Goals For %

1. Matthews 54.3% (+3.0rel)
2. Nylander 54.1% (+2.5rel)
3. Marner 51.6% (-1.3rel)
4. Werenski 50.5% (+4.2rel)
5. Vesey 50.3% (-4.4rel)
6. Konecny 45.3% (+0.5rel)
7. Laine 42.0% (-9.2rel)

Laine is good to have on the PP. He's just so one-dimensional. I do not believe for a second any one of you would pick him over a complete # 1 Centre. Matthews is already an elite NHL possession forward at 19.
