Rumours are its Sven, Stetcher and a conditional pick, if they sign him, for Barrie and maybe a 4th.
The only HW the Canucks need

That's a killer deal, I'd snatch it in a heartbeat!Hockey Widow wrote: ↑Sun Feb 23, 2020 9:35 pm Rumours are its Sven, Stetcher and a conditional pick, if they sign him, for Barrie and maybe a 4th.

Sounds too good to be true which is why it probably isn't.ESQ wrote: ↑Sun Feb 23, 2020 9:53 pmThat's a killer deal, I'd snatch it in a heartbeat!Hockey Widow wrote: ↑Sun Feb 23, 2020 9:35 pm Rumours are its Sven, Stetcher and a conditional pick, if they sign him, for Barrie and maybe a 4th.

Curious and more curious.....asidas wrote: ↑Sun Feb 23, 2020 9:24 pm Vegas and canucks are the two teams trying hard to land him. The trade to either team will apparently already have a contract waiting for barrie.
So, seems like HW is correct with benning wanting to talk to the agent.
Also, baertchi may be on the way to toronto. I hope we dont pay too much. But if we do get Barrie, does that not make us a contender? With boeser to return later. We are a pretty stacked team.
A co-worker here is a diehard leaves fan. Said he thinks Dumbass is compiling forwards in all his trades leading up to the deadline so that he can then flip a package of forwards out the door for a defenseman. I suspect that'll blow up in his face if he also ends up dealing a defenseman out in Barrie.

Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..

I think I'd rather bring in someone like Mark Boroweicki as a rental than Tyson Barrie.
Unless he's still injured?

Bart to help ease the loss of Johnsson.Hockey Widow wrote: ↑Sun Feb 23, 2020 9:35 pm Rumours are its Sven, Stetcher and a conditional pick, if they sign him, for Barrie and maybe a 4th.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

Nah Werenski is bluejacket for as long as he wants to be, I mean CBJ won't move him for anything really unless he wants out.ESQ wrote: ↑Sun Feb 23, 2020 8:48 pm To Doiley's point, Werenski would be a very interesting pick-up - a goal-scoring Dman. I have him in my fantasy league, and Werenski is the league-leading goalscorer amongst defencemen - and oddly, has more goals on this season than Boeser.
I find it a little weird that in his 4th season in the league, Werenski still isn't averaging >18 min/gp, but he is killer on the PP and also is on the top PK pairing - on a mediocre Columbus team.
I agree, but I'm a little on the fence about whether Barrie is That Guy...at least this season.
I like the idea of adding Barrie in the off-season (trade Sutter and Loui retires and it could happen), but I don't see the point of giving up anything of value for him as a rental. Stecher straight-up? Absolutely. Whatever Barrie's faults, he's so obviously a massive upgrade on Stech.
Tanev straight-up for Barrie? What say you Skyo?
Seems more and more likely it's Stecher + a depth roster guy (Bart?) + swap of picks for Barrie.

That deal saves the Canucks almost 3M in salary, about 2M in cap since 1M is buried with Sven. Could explain the pick going out the door. But how do the leaves fit that cap in. They ship out 2.7 but take 5.7 back. Keep In mind Avs retained 2.7 on Barrie. Doesn’t make sense unless Dumbass has something else planned

.
Meh; Looks like the Barrie rumors have validity. Don't mean to rain on parades but I'm not in favor of acquiring this guy with a deal in place
to sign.
He will be 29 in July and the thought of five or six years at six million or more per. sickens me. Way risky. Not on board with this at all.

Short term thinking.

I just read that the leaves like Stecher. So maybe there’s something to it.Hockey Widow wrote: ↑Sun Feb 23, 2020 10:00 pmSounds too good to be true which is why it probably isn't.ESQ wrote: ↑Sun Feb 23, 2020 9:53 pmThat's a killer deal, I'd snatch it in a heartbeat!Hockey Widow wrote: ↑Sun Feb 23, 2020 9:35 pm Rumours are its Sven, Stetcher and a conditional pick, if they sign him, for Barrie and maybe a 4th.
As much as some say trading Troy out would hurt team morale, I think you do it for Barrie even if Barrie is just a rental. Troy is probably gone after this season anyhow.
