The Barrie rumours never seem to end. I suspect he continues to inform his current employers about his desire to play for his home town club and not to resign wherever he is.
Theres been enough smoke over the past couple of years to legitimize these rumours
So how much better might the team fare with Barrie in the top 4 and no more of stetchers fuck ups?

Seen the Leaves play?
Since the latest run of defections causing own goals,
SFU - BFU = 0
Showed my math.
Thats because he hates the laughs and only wants to play his best for the team he loves. He bleeds blue/green and sometimes red/orange/yellow
Yep, I smell a hometown discount.
What kind of a hometown discount should Benning get for a defenseman that has the worst +/- on the Leaves?
Sakic knew something when he wouldn’t re-sign Barrie. I don’t mind shopping Stecher if they don’t want to re-sign him, but Barrie won’t help. The one thing he might be okay at is something Hughes has mastered. Just call up Rafferty or sign Groot.
Save the money for Taffoli, Tanev, Jake, or Gaudette.
I kind of think Marky is already done here since he isn’t getting signed by the TDL, but it makes no sense to trade him away because the only teams in the playoffs that he would be a big upgrade to are the Coilers, Lames and Avs, and trading him to one of them is a no go since we could soon meet them in the playoffs.

You're ruining the fantasy CP.

Barrie isn’t someone to commit a big money contract to.
Would rather they do a bigger move for a younger, better RH defenseman - Stecher and Gaudette for Dobson? The Islanders might see Gaudette as a top six centre, and are said to be in need of top six scoring for the playoff run. They seem to be overloaded with RHD so Dobson is getting limited minutes. It might work?
I think I'd pass on Barrie at this point. Maybe if he was UFA signing. We only need one small, dinky, uber-skilled D-man and Quinn is our guy. Fill the rest of our D-core with goliaths, stay-at-home types and two-way guys.
Dobson would be a great pickup, but I really don't want to give up on the Hockey Gaud though. I want to keep our trio of centres in Petey, BoHo and Gauds for the next few years and see if they can be the foundation to make this team a winner. How about Podkolzin for Dobson? Should be pretty fair, both guys drafted around 10ov. We do have the One-eyed Rafferty though. If he can play, then the need for Dobson won't be as necessary.

We need somebody like Spider Simmons for the playoff festivities.
If not the Spider himself, then maybe this versatile guy?
If you just want a big tough guy for the playoffs, I'm sure Rahimi could be convinced to come over as soon as Växjö's season ends. And he already knows Petey, so there's that.
Sure, Grantham owned him in this clip, but he has worn the Orca before and he is not afraid to drop his gloves:
It's hard to find recent highlights of him, as he's not fighting as frequently as before, but you can see him quite a bit in the 2018 Swedish Championship final which also features some really nice eye-candy goals by Petey.
Rahimi is #48 in Växjö and sports one of the more impressive playoff beards.
Game 1 (7-0):
At the 3 minute mark you can see him defending the crease, unfortunately taking out his own goalie in the process, but when you watch the entire games you see a lot of this. When Rahimi is on the ice, he makes sure that parking near the crease is not allowed, and offenders must feel the pain of their error.
At the 4.20 mark he actually scores a goal!
Game 2 (4-0):
Right at the beginning of the clip you get to see his personal fan club, then he actually scores the first goal.
Also some nice footage of former Canuck Bert Robertsson looking sad.
Serves him right for coaching Skellefteå!
Game 3 (4-1):
Game 4 (5-0):
And that's all it took. Four games, a combined score of 20-1.
That should indicate that the Växjö defence was not entirely crap, right?
Oh, and it feels soooooo good to see Skellefteå humiliated like that.
Bogosian’s contract may be terminated today if he doesn’t report to the AHL. Might he sign for a low pro-rated deal to finish the season to show what value he has? He’s a RHD, probably cheap and better defensively on a bottom pairing than BFU or SFU. And they wouldn’t have to give up any assets.
