Edit: Petey’s deke didn’t result in a goal, but it ended Clara’s game.

I know the bar is low but I think Petey has been one of the more noticeable players for Sweden (in a good way). He should have buried that goal off the post - bad break.

Overall a bit of a tepid game for Sweden but not a bad way to start. You could argue better than winning 10-0 as they really had to find their game and deal with unexpected stress (you could see them clutching their sticks a little after somehow being tied 2-2 despite outplaying Italy).

Surprisingly good and chirpy game today. Clara was really good.

Yep. Won't show up on the scoresheet but it was a good screen. Also he should have an assist just before that if Zibanejad didn't miss the wide open net.

Shots ended 60-22 with the final score 5-2.

Who were on the ice for Italy’s goals?

Some people are too fixicated on stats and on final on goalies. Trust me, i never gave too much but also never quit out on my goalies. Imo in a team game they're pretty overrated. When i compare the teamplay of Sweden and Finland in their first games. Beware of Suomi despite their loss.

He’s under the media microscope because of his contract, but he is still the Canucks best forward, and really it’s not even very close.
You listen to the media it begins and ends with his failure while DeBrusk, Boeser, Myers, etc get very little criticism. It’s weird to me.

Yeah, starting to go back to McKenna if Can picks 1st. Reading those comments about Verhoeff’s skating concerns me a bit.
