Nothing to lose, no pressure.

An even strength goal, a shorty and a PP goal. Nice stat line.

I suppose I would put the powerplay on the positive shit list... very short list.

Debrusk 14 out of 16 goals scored with the man-advantage.

I think for the most part he has lived up to his contract. I don’t have a problem with how he has played for us. My thing is his body language and visible lack of desire for being here. Don’t blame him. Just think he is getter gone. Not sure what type of return we can get over the summer but I do think we need to look at moving him.

Carl Yagro wrote: Wed Apr 01, 2026 3:02 pm That's not my point Mëds. ALL top line players get their PP time and that's where they make a lot of their hay, so to speak.

My point is that he's getting results with the man-advantage only. For the "best" player on the team, much more is expected. McDavid and Mackinnon are just two examples... and I'm not even trying to compare them to Scooter. They are clearly in different leagues over most.

I'm talking about the main guy being a consistent offensive leader. A play-driver.

I've always maintained that he's been protected by the real offensive drivers and tough match-ups by JTM, Hughes and Bo. Even with the 100pt season, was a secondary.

Those two guys ran the PP, making BumperBo a 30g scorer for the first time in his career. EP was the one on the half-boards waiting for clappers. He's not there running it like Naslund or Henrik.

Top guys make others better. Ie. BumperBo, 40g+ Brock

Since he's been the "man", his best production has dropped by more than half. He needs better wingers? He needs to make better wingers. Aside from the PP, the other centers have produced at almost the same or better rate. That is bad no matter the adjustments to data.

I don't subscribe to needing a "1C" to immediately replace him either. This (should be) is a rebuilding team for at least another 3-5 years, so it's got time to be mediocre still. What you don't have time for is vets with some value, especially those still in their 20s, to not be moved for more bullets.
What value does Scooter offer with that contract? I really hope I'm wrong, but I just can't imagine a team taking that on.

I think to get to the point where another team will take him on, we would have to re-evaluate whether or not to keep him - but if and when that time comes, he may be worth more to the team than the picks, etc we might get. Maybe in the last few years, when the cap is up? ⚓

There was talk awhile back that Sasson was better suited as a winger in the NHL. I’ve liked what I have seen with him on wing, his speed and puck skills.

The biggest deciding factor is on those vets themselves, those still at an age where they have a few good years left and an opportunity to play in a winning environment.

It doesn't matter what they say now in public, it's what they say privately with their families, agent and the team. Those NMCs will obviously affect what the FO can do in terms of deals. Just because these guys don't openly act like Debrusk in wanting out, it doesn't mean they want to burn the rest of their careers in purgatory.

I have a feeling this was the ideal trap game for Colorado. I wouldn’t be surprised if some AVS are playing hung over. Last-place team in a shitty road atretch at the end of the season; they pretty much have 1st in the West locked up.

On the flip-side, there have been promising signs - especially from the kids - the last couple of games. I think they were due for a game like this.

Blackwood musta been one of the ones tying one on last night. There were about three goals there he should have had.

On the flip-side, Boeser hits 20…

It's just very clear that during even-strength play, where the majority of the game is played, our less expensive centers are much better at generating chances and finishing them off. Even the 4C Kampf was better at this while he was here.
