Can em now, this team has completely imploded and management should've seen it coming to better prepare.
I’d say management decisions were a partial cause of it.
I would say they were the driving force behind it.

Very likely, so whether their moves caused the player issues or the player issues existed anyways and they didn’t take the necessary steps to mitigate things either way they need gone yesterday at this point!
Yep. Imeho, Millerssongate is as much on management as it is on the players themselves.

Great responses. I admittedly made it difficult by dangling that "sell the team" option which we all know is just a pipedream!
I chose the option to fire management in the offseason but I'm frankly finding it difficult to find the best option. In an ideal state we could replace them ASAP but feels like it would be slim pickings mid-season (parking the whole ownership issue aside).
Honestly part of me still has confidence in Jim Rutherford as a President of Hockey Ops. That sounds like a ridiculous thing to stay in some respect because he has created so much drama by speaking so openly about issues with the team and threw the likes of Boudreau under the bus so needlessly. But I feel like his "I don't give a fuck what people think" attitude is what's needed to stand up to FA. So my only reservation in firing this management group is FA hiring another yes man. Speaking of yes men, I don't know what the point of Patrick Alvin is. If JR retires, I would have no confidence in Alvin to manage this team.
As frustrated as I am with the current management, fundamentally this is a product of awful management for 10+ years (*cough* meddling ownership that won't accept the need for a rebuild*).

Ya to replace them mid-season would be difficult. You can't get permission to speak to people until the end of the season. Ideally if you do replace them you want to do so well before the draft to give the new guy(s) a chance to assess the team and to develop some type of relationship with the scouting department.
But then again if you are going to do that then don't let the current regime trade anyone that is not UFA. Give the new crew a chance to work out something with those vets with term.
I really sense Allvin is in over his head. But I dont know what goes on behind closed doors. Maybe he is in charge and Rutherford just thinks he is. But you do get the feeling at times that Allvin is totally exacerbated with Rutherford, like he always has to correct him or clean up his mess.

If Rutherford is in charge and Allvin just a token title holder, that’s not a good look and suggests that Allvin would be in over his head.
If Allvin is in charge and Rutherford just thinks he is, then clearly Allvin is in over his head.
Either way, Allvin is incompetent.

I humbly suggest that everyone at this GDHTMB is exacerbated with the entirety of it.

What more is there to say? After all, when you’re right, you’re right.

Agreed. this team needs a culture change, and it starts at the VERY top. Owner should sell, new owner brings in new GM, new GM brings in new coaching staff.

I tend to think HW is right, but that doesn’t mean I think Mëds is wrong, Managing up is as much a skill as managing down, and equally important. That there are difficult personalities up makes me appreciate the nearly no win situation Allvin is in, but we judge results. And if only 1 in a 100 gms could handle the owner and the president, there is no acceptable Gm other than that 1. That Allvin with a freer hand or less need to tend to messes from above may have performed well in a different situation is an irrelevant counterfactual. It’s already happened, and this does not appear to be that rare situation where nearly all respect of the staff, coaches, players agents, players, other gms, etc runs to Allvin and everyone think JR was the turd. There are times he appeared a cuck. There are times he executed orders. There are times he was the bad cop to JR’s good. There are many times where Allvin was bypassed to get to the real power.
Fire them all.

The fact that JR handled the QH trade and PA was instructed to field calls/texts and forward directly to him renders the Swede a de facto Girl Friday and inasmuch a Eunich.
These fucking guys.
Get rid of them.

Meanwhile, has anyone heard about the job Granato and Castonguay are doing - or have they really been relegated to coffee and sandwich girls?? We talk about Allvin being in over his head, but where is that vaunted collection of hockey minds they brought in? I’m just as disappointed with them because of how much they were hyped - either they weren’t as advertised or they were ignored.
If we’re cleaning house, clean it all.
