Looks like the Canucks need it to be tonight.Megaterio Llamas wrote: ↑Fri Jan 10, 2025 5:08 pm Peter seems stimulated tonight.
You get the impression he could expolode offensively at any moment.

Canes are on a back to back, 3rd game in 4 - 5th in 7. And still play with more pace.theman wrote: ↑Fri Jan 10, 2025 5:10 pmLooks like the Canucks need it to be tonight.Megaterio Llamas wrote: ↑Fri Jan 10, 2025 5:08 pm Peter seems stimulated tonight.

The stiffness in Peter's play has declined in the second period.
He needs tro rediscover the staying power he once exhibited.

5 SOG after almost two periods.
Let me guess... can't handle the Canes forechecking pressure. When they do get possession, D can't skate or pass cleanly out through the Canes neutral zone pressure to get the puck to the forwards to enter with speed, hence very few sustained offensive chances.

Perhaps the Matrix fooled everyone into getting Red-pilled when the Blue pill was actually the right choice.Megaterio Llamas wrote: ↑Fri Jan 10, 2025 5:27 pm The stiffness in Peter's play has declined in the second period.

Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..
Re: GDT: Canucks entering the Eye of the Storm, 4 PST, SNP
Our defense is putrid after Hughes. Soucy and Myers both look like guys who , on their best night, have a bottom-pairing ceiling.
Forbert actually looks like a serviceable #6.....which means he's a #7 on a decent team.
Up front there's no cohesion to the attack. The forwards are easily kept to the perimeter. JT can power to the net, and Garland can escape coverage, but neither of them has anyone in the right spot to support them.
This team is the Quinn Hughes show and the opposition all know it now and they just focus on containing him.
Sometimes I swear that the other 4 skaters wearing the stinky whale are on the take. Hughes will carry the puck all over the offensive zone, at times he will have 1 defender chasing him and 2 shadowing.....and the other Canucks just go to places on the ice where they are covered. I mean, if you can't read the play to get open, then just make a plan where as soon as Hughes starts wheeling, the 3 forwards all just take a lane to the crease, while the other dman stays high as a safety, and Quinn's job is to simply get the puck to the net for a rebound.

Playing these Canes is like wrestling an octopus.
It's not the most exciting event to watch.

The Canes are like whale cheeks... suffocating.
Rod has got them playing that high-pressure, trapping system all year round. Every game for them is like playoffs. They have been consistent contenders for awhile now.
No shame in losing to them. Just makes you angry that you have to play Juulsen, Forbort, Desharnais as regulars night in and night out, while Myers & Soucy are promoted to positions well unsuited to their skills.
No easy fixes.

There was a 3rd big one that was there that night but she didn't want to come into the room with everyone.
Lucky thing too...she was the biggest one of all
