New Zealand gets one terrorist attack and boom they are changing their gun laws further to be more strict.
Too bad the muslims didnt have their own guns
Because throwing more guns at a problem is a wise solution? yeah no.
In fact it'll make it worse.

Guys like that will get their guns with or without gun laws.
The only way gun laws might affect a situation like this is to disarm that guy who was shooting back at them.
Analogy time, it's like a nice bike - leaving it with one lock on it deters a little bit to a thief, but throw 3 different types of locks on it it'll deter
a lot more thieves who are looking for easy pickin's, BUT it's never 100% full proof, IF a person reallllly wants it, they'll get it sure but it'll be a helluva lot more safer.
I mean what has the strictest laws for weapons? nukes aha, if it was easy to get a lot more terrorists would use it to kill their enemies, but it has the strictest craziest laws to keep it out of terrorists hands, so they get whatever they can get and these days it's automatic weapons, and stricter laws will help more than you think, sure it's not 100% full proof, but it'll deter the fringe terrorists from getting them, making killing weapons harder to get is proven to work, whether you like it or not.
The easier you make things to get, the likelier a terrorist will use it.
Now i'm not talking hunting rifles, just your AK-47's - assault rifles etc. Make those assault rifles way harder to get, the less and less likelier a potential terrorist will be able to use it.

Except in that analogy the guys shooting back are the locks.
Having said that, we don't know how strict the new gun laws might be...

Nope, a terrorist will always get his or her assault weapons, gun laws be damned.

Should just do away with those useless laws completely. Also, drug laws, speeding limits, pilot certification, health standards for restaurants, and building codes. People will always skirt the system, after all!
Fuckin socialists need to focus on real threats to society, like Tide Pods and Kinder Eggs.

Have you ever looked at a map to see where NZ is situated?
Your argument has some logic to it when discussing eg the US or Canada.
It is far easier to restrict access to something on an island. Especially if it's at the far corner of the world.
Stricter gun laws have been very effective in Australia, which has a similar geographic situation.

Exactly which is why I'd also throw out that Chicago has banned guns but gun deaths are still high! point of view -
Chicago suburb bans assault weapons.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/mor ... -shooting/
However!
Chicago murder rate drops for second year in a row.
Police said they seized almost 10,000 guns in 2018, representing a 9% increase from 2017 and the highest number of confiscated guns in the last five years, more than one illegal gun seized every hour of the year.
"The correlation between gun seizures and gun arrests and the decline in homicides and shootings just simply cannot be overlooked," Superintendent of Police Eddie T. Johnson said in a news conference Monday.
https://www.cnn.com/2018/12/31/us/chica ... index.html
& as Per said it's much harder for a country to do when they are bordering Canada and the hardcore Mexico country, and if all the States are not on board, a potential terrorist simply just has to go across into another lenient State to get their assault weapons - easy.

Superdem Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is saying the world will end by 2031 due to global warming.
Presumably we should all prepare to die horrible deaths, starting a few years from now.
74% of Democrats think she would make a fine American President.
Thoughts?
Good gawd, now pinko-loving MSN is turning on AOC!
She chases Amazon ($30Billion + 25,000 jobs) out of NY and says that was a
good thing for the people she represents!
She actually thought NY could then spend the $3Billion in tax breaks Amazon
would have received, hey free wallet!
CUSTOMER: I want to buy 20 pizzas, I have a coupon from you for $20.
AOC: No! You have to pay full price!!
CUSTOMER: Okay, I'll take my business elsewhere.
AOC: Hey boss! I saved you $20!
Yeah, this is why socialism doesn't work...
So AOC responded to the New Zealand PM's post-slaughter calls for thoughts and prayers with:
"What good are your thoughts & prayers when they don’t even keep the pews safe?"
And now of course she's being crucified on social media for it.
At a time when the world is trying to express sympathy for the mosque slayings, AOC is mocking Muslims!
Ahhh those godless fucking commies amirite?
She quickly followed that up by blaming the US President for the massacre IN NEW ZEALAND... of course.
This woman is a comedian, she just doesn’t know it yet!
They should reboot The Lucy Show and have her play Ricky Retardo!

This guy carried out his rampage with legally acquired weapons, so restrictions might have stopped this one.
One simple change:
magazine capacity/legality:
Any New Zealand citizen is able to purchase a 30-round magazine for an AR-15 or a 75 round drum magazine for an AK pattern rifle online or in stores that stock them without any kind of firearms licence or background check nor is it illegal to possess them while owning standard A-category firearms. The owner only breaks the law when attaching a high capacity magazine to their rifle.
Many sellers in New Zealand offer high capacity magazines for sale. Among them is Gun City. A chain which boasts of being “the world’s largest gun store”, its website has dozens of 30, 40 and even 75 round magazines for sale with minimal warnings about legality when combined with A category firearms
Maybe if he only had 5 rounds to work with, the guy that rushed him in the first mosque would have had more success...
If someone is resourceful/committed it's difficult to stop them (remember the guy that stole the plane from SeaTac? Yeah, if there's a will, there's a way), but we shouldn't make it
so easy for them.

Not saying that it would be impossible, just hard.
I mean a terrorist organisation like al qaida could probably pull it off by using Saudi or Pakistani diplomats to smuggle them or by bribing port officials, but a 28-yo nobody personal trainer fired up on roids and alt right memes might not be able to.
In fact, that he chose to do this in NZ rather than his native Australia could in part be because of their lax gun laws.
