If that doesn't count as an eligible guess, then I pick Alexandre Grenier.
Doesn't look like anyone picked Stecher.

Well thanks to Jim Benning's drafting/signing and development, every season the Canucks can introduce a rookie or two every year, how it should be, unlike every year prior to JB's introduction.
2015/16 hutton/virtanen/mccann
2016/17 gaunce/rodin/tryamkin & approx a month or so Stecher.
2017/18 boeser maybe juolevi/carcone/labate/demko/cassels/cederholm
2018/19 gaudette/brisebois/jasek/candella/rendulic/Zhukenov/stukel

I'm starting to wonder about Virtanen. He hasn't been right since that hit that hurt his shoulder. Same shoulder that had surgery on earlier? Take it for what it is, but even Botch - who usually pumps the kid's tires - is starting to wonder out of concern himself. Anybody else concerned?

Hey Trump, I’m ANTIFA.

For sure. As everyone knows, I was a huge supporter of Jake last spring, thought he was off to the races, dun deal.Lancer wrote:I'm starting to wonder about Virtanen. It may well be the shoulder and that would for surely explain why he stays in Vancouver, (top medics on the parent club).
I don't like to think so but I'm not totally ruling out player/coach conflict.

Re: Canucks Young Guns
It's one of or both of the shoulder or maybe even a slight concussion, it's more likely a hurtin' shoulder with his history, he clearly needs to take it easy and rehab that shoulder to at least 90%-95% to play his style of game effectively.Lancer wrote:I'm starting to wonder about Virtanen. ^this probably re-aggravated his bruised shoulder.Oct 2016 - When Jake Virtanen was rocked along the boards by a high Lance Bouma hit in the first period Saturday — the winger got up slowly — it set into process the league’s new concussion protocol. Four spotters watching all league games in Toronto and New York have the authority to remove players from games if they exhibit obvious concussion-like symptoms.
They also work in concert with arena spotters to ensure that a player absorbing a hit that may contact the head is also examined. He may not look concussed, but needs to be cleared and that occurred with Virtanen.
“Jake came back and played, so I don’t think there was anything,” Canucks coach Willie Desjardins said of the winger’s 8:24 of ice time and two good scoring chances.
“There are times when you think a guy may not need to go (for examination), but it’s important that we’re on the right side. We’ve gone through the videos and we know what to look for and it’s good to have an independent person (decide) because we all get so competitive. It’s a good thing.”
Sept, 2016.

Indication on Jake Virtanen is bruised shoulder. Should miss only a few days.
In his draft year he had shoulder surgery as well.http://thecanuckway.com/2016/09/29/vanc ... miss-days/
Still, even missing just a few days, and therefore a few games, sucks for Virtanen. He needs every chance to prove himself, and you can’t really do that with an injured shoulder.
For the long term best interest of Jake and the franchise, it's in my professional armchair doctor opinion JV take a month off to rehab and then join the AHL for a couple weeks to come back the strong fierce hitter we know he is.May 2014 - The Calgary Hitmen announced on Thursday that forward Jake Virtanen underwent successful shoulder surgery and is expected to be out of action for four to six months.
